They'll start Gage Wood but he's no Anthony Eyanson.

Coastal has played at an elite level

Not any more so than most of the other teams in the CWS.

has excellent pitching as well

Like many of the teams in the CWS

as well as can flat out his

Assume you mean hit and not really. They are 7th out of 8 in batting average, 6th out of 8 in runs scored on the season, and 7th out of 8th in runs scored per game.

They swept through the third toughest conference in baseball
Nope, the Sunbelt was actually down this season, and they have never been the third best, though they are usually one of the 2 best non-power conference

Additionally, Coastal has the second-worst fielding percentage of any of the CWS teams.

No, they didnt. Unless you are going to argue that either the SEC, ACC, Big 10, or Big 12 wasnt better than the sunbelt. And arguably the American athletic

They had 2 host sites and should have had a 3rd team in. Big 12 had zero.
Big 10 had 2

We’ve also seen coastal at their worst losing to charleston and alabama, if we are going to cherry pick worsts

They swept through a regional and Super and have CRUSHED it for the last 24 games.

He’s not on Eyanson’s level. Arky pitching was not even close to Eyanson in the SEC. Root is 8-5. Wood is likely to start game 2 if I had to guess. Gaeckle and Beidelschie don’t come close to Eyanson. If it is someone better than or on the the level with Eyanson then I guess I do not know their no. 2 starter.

Thats besides the point. The point is, if murray loses to ucla, they are going 2 and q regardless. Gage wood isnt some slouch

Feel free to check that for all the teams if you want to know

They had 2 teams in, and one of them lost in their own regional.

The 3rd team (Troy) didn't get in because the rest of the sunbelt was that bad.

In those 24 games, I would say that they've played good teams in 5 of them. They beat Clemson (lost in a regional) in a midweek. they beat Southern Miss (lost in a regional) in the conference tourney, they beat a pretty average ECU team (lost in a regional), who only got into the tournament because they won their conference tournament, and they beat Auburn.

I'm even giving you the ECU games as tough games.

They're good, otherwise they wouldn't be here. But they're not world beaters by any means. They have a total of 4 every day hitters hitting above .300 in a pretty below average conference. They've got good pitching numbers, but again, they play in a below average conference.

I doubt they make it out of their side of the bracket.

In that stretch, they beat Clemson, East Carolina (twice) and an Auburn team twice that swept LSU in Auburn.
They should have been a top 8 seed according to the experts just not the committees.

genuinely believe there are no weak teams in this year's tournament; each squad possesses unique strengths that could carry them to victory

This is one of the weakest fields in years. You don't think that the national title would be harder to win if the top 8 national seeds had all won and made it to Omaha?

Coastal Carolina and Oregon State stand out as the most formidable contenders; CC absolutely dismantled Auburn

There’s something to be said for teams that have previously won the natty.

They (CC) beat Clemson and East Carolina (2X) in their current streak. No doubt they are the hottest team.

According to some. Their RPI just reached the top 8, their SOS was #54; only Murray State's was worse. They are a solid team; they are not the most complete in the Tournament.

It is NOT the “players” as much is how they are playing as a TEAM. Johnson stated baseball is not like football and basketball about big fast players. That’s why the 88 mph lefty that can spot can slow down and bear LSU as we’ve seen all season or at least give them a lot of trouble.
I don’t understand why people think this team can’t win it.

Dont know who the weakest team in Omaha is gonna be BUT this is probably the weakest team LSU has sent to Omaha. Gies to show LSU’s outstanding baseball over the years.
