If we can just get 5-6 SEC caliber players in here for next year we might win 20+ games.

Let's not overlook turnovers and free throws. These are fundamentals for a 20+ win team.

NBA..Nick Fazekas

Despite being a 3x WAC-POY, and initially in Dallas farm back in 2007, then a real globetrotter bouncing around, then once again now cut again from the NBA D-League in late 2011.

NBA, by technicality, at best, and that's being generous in interpretation.

What a surprise. Someone bumps a prediction thread about next year's team after a loss in the NIT, which is entirely irrelevant to next year's team.

If anything, I hope some of you noticed that rational people do exist during the broadcast. The announcers both agreed that LSU would be a Top 4 SEC team next year. They mentioned that LSU would bring back all five starters.

Almost everyone has missed the forest for the trees when it comes to the basketball program under TJ.

Sadly, this same perception is what led many to consider Brady to be an average coach. I don't believe ya'll realize what type of shape this program was in when Trent inherited this team.

If anyone had ANY foresight during the NCAA tournament year, they would have seen that Tasmin Mitchell and Storm Warren were the only SEC caliber talents on that team who were not seniors.

During the course of his tenure, they would have seen that we were ALWAYS fighting an uphill battle because we usually had 6-8 scholarship players on the roster. They would have seen that players within a three hour driving distance of Baton Rouge were the ENTIRE reason Brady lasted as long as he did.

Trent's players will compose our entire starting five next season. We'll bring in Morgan, who seems like the offensive threat at shooting guard we need, probably Coleman, who seems like the physical, defensive presence on the perimeter we need, and probably Hammink.

Add those three players and possibly one or two more players to our current team, which loses no one from its starting five, while most teams in the SEC and NCAA lose significant contributors to their respective teams, and it seems like common sense to me that we'll be much improved.

Also, we'll be slated to return four of five starters the following year.

Be patient. If Trent doesn't perform next year, then fire him. I just personally believe that everyone will eat every negative word they've said about Trent in the next two seasons. If he wins two seasons in a row, the Jarrell Martin's, Craig Victor's, and Ricardo Gather's will begin to listen more closely, and what we could have become under Brady will be realized under Johnson.

This is the most IGNORANT sentiment on this board.

The following are players who currently log significant minutes in the NBA: Landry Fields, Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Ramon Sessions, Javale Mcgee. This also does not include Marcus Thornton.

That's not a bad lineup.

So Ludwig is still our primary big off the bench and Stringer is still the backup PG? Awesome

Trent was at Stanford before Sessions ever played a minute at Nevada. McGee was two whole years after he was gone. Fields played 14 and 12 min ppg under Trent and then blossomed once Trent left.

He recruited Ramon Sessions. I was wrong about Mcgee. Thought he was a TJ recruit/product.

If we're subtracting or adding players based on productivity, I think it's only fair to add Marcus Thornton to TJ's list.

We will add a big man. He'll probably be the equivalent of Quinton Thornton at worst.

Stringer can fill in as backup PG, especially if he's coming off of the bench because of Morgan, Coleman, or Hammink anyway.

I hated the way the season ended, but there's a lot to look forward to. If we lose next year, we'll find a new coach. I'll drive the bandwagon, but many of you, once again, are overlooking the general direction of the program. Next will be the most complete team Johnson has had at LSU.

Sure he recruited him but he was at Nevada for 3 years, Trent gets no credit for developing him.

You can but you're still at just MT5 and the Lopez Twins.

Lol. If the players progress with the addition of Morgan they can. But Trent has never progressed players anywhere.

Marcus Thornton, what are you talking about. TJ didn't recruit him. Marcus was invited to a couple of NBA summer camps before TJ ever coached him a minute. TJ's offense is perfect for Marcus, give it him and let him shoot anywhere on the court he wants. He is trying that with stringer and we all see how that has worked out.
Besides the Lopez twins who has TJ recruited and coached up to be a REAl player in the NBA. Before you call anyone ignorant.

If we go 4-1 instead of 1-4 down the stretch this year, we win 21 games. So it isn't that much of a stretch to thinkwe could do this.
