Only in your simple narcissistic minds were we the laughingstock of CFB - 99% of all teams would've loved to be where LSU was even a year ago.
LSU fans, rightfully so, got accustomed to greatness - greatness doesn't always equate to winning a NC on a regular basis - it means that you have the quality of players and coaches and facilities and fan support and overall respect for your program by quality players such that momentum helps build on itself. We had that until 1/9/12 after what should be considered one of the greatest regular season and SEC competitive seasons ever - but, the loss to Bama (fueled by angry fans and a media that pays accolades only to the winner) transformed everyone's thinking that unless we beat Bama and win NC's, we are headed south with our program. When programs and fanbase support starts thinking this way, it's the baseball equivalent to "not keeping your eye on the ball". Your coaches start panicking because they feel as if they need to shake things up and recreate the wheel. It's a self-fulfilling decline. Bottom line, no one outside LSU fans thinks long enough about our program to give a real pompous damn - they're too concerned about their own team and knowing damn well how hard if is to reach the top (because most teams have never been there) and how quickly it can disappear. And yes, I do believe shitty unrealistic fans can and do contribute to a team's decline.

Laughingstock huh?
Only to fricking dipshits in our own fanbase that couldn't stop staring at the green grass in Alabama.
Were Les' best days behind him? Yep.
Time to move on? Yep. Although NOT in September after 1 conference loss.
Was Les the only thing stopping LSU from taking down Bama? Lol.
Was it always likely that the next guy would fail to live up to what Miles did? Goddamn right.

What the hell are we now?
No. We were falling back into the pack with Miles. We were moving out of period of being an elite program, but we were still a hard nosed physical team that wasn't to be taken lightly or fricked with.
It took Ogeron one SEC game to flip that. Everyone looked ath their schedules and figured a W against LSU. As frustrating as Miles was, nobody did that with his teams.

Ok, then you're (i) lying; (ii) an idiot; or (iii) being paid to shill for O. There is the possibility that you're all three.

we should have been a laughing stock, but strangely, everyone else is too ignorant to realize how bad Miles was.
even 2012-2015 we were 2nd in the sec in overall wins and conf wins. we werent where we used to be but in no way were we a laughing stock.

Les Miles was a buffoon to the national media.
you have no fricking clue what you're talking about. no national pundit thought miles was a bufoon.
please link us to one article by a reputable source that said he was anything but a winning coach.
it should be easy since youre so convince it was widespread.

I know we all know why Miles was fired but most people don't.

to the point where at least 10 wins 8 out of 11 years is considered a massive underachievement.

Ok MoJeaux, you must be a keyboard fricktard.
Ive never posted anything in support of O..
You asked me a question about Miles. I answered it.
O is an idiot also.
Miles started the idiot days, O is picking up the ball and running with also.
But at the end of the day, all the MILES nut lickers, still have not accepted MILES is fires. LMAO and he aint coming back.

You think where we are now is funny? I mean, I am laughing to keep from crying, but it's only because I cannot believe how massively stupid LSU was in the way it handled both the firing of Miles and the hiring of O.

There's a lot of exaggerating in this thread.
No, we did not win 10 games per year under Miles. In the end, we were ranging between 8-5 and 10-3.
We were NOT a laughing stock under Miles. We are becoming one now.
LSU is worse right now than if Miles had stayed. However, Miles was slipping, and I expect we'd be an 8-5 team this year with Miles. I would bet on this: our 2018 recruiting class would be a lot better under Miles. This incoming class is going to be our weakest in nearly 20 years.

NOW this we can agree on MOJEAUX..
You are 100% correct. LSU frick up big time with this entire fiasco. I agree with you in every aspect. Hence Joe Alleva and King A. need to be fired also.
But on the Grid Iron on National TV, Miles embarrassed this university.

if we had ever lost an ooc home game under miles i wouldnt count it but there is nothing pointing to us not winning but yeah your right, the record books say 7 out of 11.

LSU football was not a laughingstock under Miles and wasn't becoming a LS under Miles.
BUT NOW I'm afraid that LSU football IS a LS.
