They try to blame it on a down year for defensive talent. Possibly true, in part, but our talent isn’t behind Grambling & GA State, and we still couldn’t stop those teams.

It’s scheme. It’s always been scheme. Very very poor scheme. And bad talent utilization.

LSU has the 2 best offenses of the last 20 years.

If you said that would happen at the end of the Miles era I don’t know that anyone would ever believe you.

Handling success is its own reward and responsibility.
If you want to have nice things you strike while the iron is hot and emblazon a path as a prototype to follow. The smart move would have been to promote Brady immediately even to the hot seat. Kept Wade and stay the course through the mean tweets and letters. Still in great shape, Godspeed

Within the span of 4 years this program has produced two of the best offenses in modern college football history. Insane.

If 2023 would have had even an average defense, who knows what this offense would’ve accomplished with more ball time. Easily could’ve been the best ever.

It's absolutely mind-boggling how bad the defense is. Nobody can convince me that it's simply a lack of talent. No matter how bad CEO left this program, there's just no way the current talent on the defensive side is only good enough to be ranked #106.

Even bad players improve SOME with proper coaching. The defense has steadily become worse. Individual players have looked worse. They are very undisciplined and lack proper technique. No gap integrity, horrible run-fit ability, and are always out of position. The LB's and Safeties wait to the play comes to them, rarely do they attack. If they make a tackle instead of whiffing, it's already a 1st down or close to it.

For those that keep attributing the issue of defense to a lack of talent, GA. St. moved the ball at will and they have a severe lack of talent. They've only had a team a little past a decade and trust me, your better recruits aren't lining up to go there.

This is unreal as an LSU fan from the 2000s - 2010s.

The offense has been great and it sucks the Defense is bad and kept us from being a contender this year, BUT the offensive stats would be way lower if the Defense were above average.
If we had leads and we’re trying to burn clock with a running game and protect the football the offense would look way more conservative.
Much like the first game against FSU before we knew our defense was so bad the offense would have to carry the team.

Why are you commenting on the 2019 offense. We didn’t waste it.

Now this year’s offense (the best) we’ve squandered.

The linebackers outside of 40 Weeks are just as bad.

It's a shame Weeks didn't play more. He has natural instincts for the position

Not a waste. I've enjoyed it immensely. How many defenses did Cholly Mac waste with sub-par offense?

Incredibly apt and evocative turn of phrase here. Bravo.

The fact that the did as well as they did while being dragged down by dead weight is a testament unto itself
