A lot of negativity about this team right now, and rightfully so given the pitching issues….

But as a fan/homer, I’m Calling it now… we go 3-0 in the regional, and win the first two games of the Super, and win Game1 in Omaha. After that, I have no prediction.

Skenes and this offense are gonna get us to the Omaha marbles game IMO, and along the way I think another pitcher or 2 are gonna unexpectedly step up in the moment when the postseason lights are on.

Game2 in Omaha is the game to circle IMO.

Your post is one day too late.

I canceled my hotel reservation for Omaha yesterday.

I could see it.

I could also see us losing our 3rd game of regionals and getting into a pissing contest to get through to supers.

I could also see us splitting the 1st 2 of supers, and having to throw the kitchen sink in game 3 to get to Omaha.

It's a really hard prediction, given we've had some issues in all 3 phases at times. They might all align, they might kind of ho and hum unpredictably, or they might all just go right down the toilet.

I'm not worried about the regionals in the slightest.

We're going to beat some poor 4-seed with Blake Money or some shite starting and then take the winner's bracket game with Skenes. After that, I don't care how bad our pitching is, whoever we face in the finals is going to have depleted arms and have to beat us twice. We're fine there.

Previously, I said that I wasn't too concerned about the super regionals either with Skenes taking game 1. I had faith that we could piece together another win with our offense over the next two games.

I still would say there is a better chance we win a super than lose it, but these last two weeks of even shittier bullpen than I could've imagined, I'm not as confident.

Skenes can’t do it alone. We need pitching that more than likely isn’t going to magically appear.

Ty Floyd can get us the game 3 win but not sure who we would use in game 1 against the 4-seed.

You realize Floyd will be going up against some mid-major's Sunday or midweek starter if we start out 2-0, right?

They might and I hope they do but nothing lately suggests you are right.

To think 2 pitchers are going to unexpectedly show up is very naïve.

Like Coleman in Eugene two years ago?

We need someone to step up, but it can happen.

You don't need 2 pitchers to step up for his prediction.

Money vs. 4 seed in regional
Skenes vs. 2 seed in regional
Floyd in regional final

Skenes in Game 1 of Super
Floyd in Game 2 of Super

Skenes Game 1 in Omaha

Money threw fine last night. If we play defense behind him he likely goes 5 or 6. He's pitching good enough to beat a 4 seed in the regional. We need the bats to come alive early.

Unless we stay in winners bracket, the SEC tourney should be an after thought to Regionals/Super Regionals and CWS

I think this team i/ very capable of win 2/3 most series. And that’s what we’ve done all year.

Regional, basically throw whoever game 1 and try and outhit the SWAC team we get. The. It’s basically a best of 3 and we have the advantage of Skenes game 2 so hopefully we’re facing someone out the losers bracket throwing on fumes our game 3.

The t be super back to best 2/3

Omaha is where is gets rough. Just a lot of pitching but that’s everyone’s problem.

Auburn's pitching staff is better than anything we'll face in the sunday game of a regional.

Again, if we go 2-0 in the regionals, then whoever we face on Sunday will be playing their fourth game of the weekend and second game that day.

I think for us to throw someone like Money game 1 of regional it's gotta be a pretty weak 4 seed who would not be throwing a very good pitcher against us. Can always run into a 4 seed who actually has a good pitcher and if they use that good pitcher it's certainly rolling the dice to not use Skenes/Floyd that game. I think I agree no matter what you save Skenes for a 2/3 seed matchup...but still have to be cognisant of who the 4 seed is throwing game 1. They might not be a very good team, but could have 1 very good pitcher that we may struggle against for 5-6 innings.

I only am more worried about this as our national seeding is dropping it seems and they could pair a 4 seed with us who could bring along a good pitcher or two. For instance if Nicholls gets sent here as a 4 seed and have Jacob Mayers who has a 1.93 ERA on the season with 88 K in 60.2 IP. Are we going to risk someone like Money/Hurd/Little against that?

Money has shown since he was a Friday night starter last year he is a one time through the lineup guy. He will give us max three innings and then it will be up to our bullpen. Yikes!!
