We should have a head coach that other teams want as their head coach...not just coordinator.

Agree. He's never been a coordinator, and he was a lousy head coach when the Ole Miss program was his to run on a full-time basis. If he wasn't from Louisiana, he wouldn't have been hired here.

dabo was similar situation as O. And he came out the gates struggling. That's why imo O deserves a fair shot. One year isn't enough to fire him over
so o deserves a shot because swinney struggled at first then won a nc years later

If this works out, it will become one the great stories in all of sports: "Ed Orgeron, against all odds."

If not, I think we'll know by the end of year 3.

Till then, I'm hoping to someday regale my grandkids with stories about the great Coach O, the legendary coach who picked up the ball, when Les Miles could carry it, no longer.

Geaux Tigers!

Agree with the caveat that age makes a difference. For example some teams might take a chance on a young guy but not an older one.

I'd say, the younger guy should eventually be someone another team would at least want as a coordinator.

Would you not take Dabo as an OC?

What does this have to do with the game Saturday night? Oh it doesn't. It is just more obsessing about coach O by haters and this insanity will continue to happen for the next 10 to 15 years of coach O's career as the LSU head football coach.

Meyer

Please stop with this. Meyer researched and developed his offense at BG and utah. He called the plays.

Unless you've been following madking and believe hes a defensive coach.

Meyer may be one of the few (only?) that I would argue could be either.

Then why did we stick with Les Miles for so long? Hell, he can't get hired for any of the 3 right now.

Here's the thing: I can't think of a position on the team I would hire Les Miles for. That includes offensive line coach, special teams coach, etc. I would take Coach Orgeron over Les Miles every day. Les Miles just couldn't get out of his own way.

Why not ....we have a fan base that most of that same group wouldn't want either.

I am willing to give coach o time. We aren't getting rid of him after one year so support the program and team. We need a change in administration before I have any faith that we will handle a good coaching search. O was not any of my first choices but as a fan I hope he proves us wrong and succeeds.

He came back today. He won't talk about that game though.
