Every single time I've heard people crying that we were "poor," we've followed it up by paying Brian Kelly his full buyout, paying Lane Kiffin a $90+ million contract, funding a possible $40 million roster, and keeping Aramark.

We are not poor.

Yes I want LSU to be good at basketball & I’m usually optimistic

I don’t know how the “real fans” do it. Some of them watch & just hope LSU loses thinking that will force a change.

“We” are. The ones who post here.

LSU has some very wealthy boosters, but idk if LSU basketball is on their radar.

Had to laugh when we did the usual “wait til the absolute last possible moment to start pressing” yesterday down 7 with less than a minute to play.

Its actually quite impressive that he would come back despite the entire fanbase wanting him to pack his shite and leave. Takes some balls

I'm sure his overpaid salary is a nice landing spot for him to cope

That happened a while ago. Games at and above 25% capacity will be a rarity if he comes back.

Here's what WILL change:
-- Season ticket requests will decrease, which means less attention given to corporate sponsors which means less ROI on sponsorships
-- Attendance will drop below 50 percent of PMAC capacity
-- Those donors with money won't pony up because they haven't gotten ROI or don't see a way to get ROI
-- Assistant coaches on expiring contracts this season could be reluctant to return next year knowing they'll have to look for a job after another subpar season
-- Replacement assistants could be reluctant to sign knowing they could be here only a year
-- Players could be reluctant to sign without decent NIL money; those currently on the team could leave for perceived greener pastures
-- In essence, 2026-27 becomes a lame-duck season with a lame-duck coach, lame-duck assistants and lame-duck players

Correct

I gave up my season tickets after last season. It wasn't out of protest. It was simply an unnecessary expense. Not only could I go to an LSU basketball game anytime I wanted because there were always thousands of tickets available, those tickets were FAR below face value and I could sit in much better seats than my season tickets. I went to about 6 games this year. Most of that via tickets just given to me for nothing. Of the few games I bought a ticket, I think the total costs came about to $15. At ALL of those games I sat less than 12 rows from the court because of the thousands of empty seats. Why would I (or anyone) pay several hundred dollars when I could get a better deal for less than $20?

This year was already a lame duck year. MM had staff members leave for private sector jobs because they figured this was a waste of time. NO notable assistants joined the staff. The only people MM could get were assistants desperate for a job and former LSU players the AD got to try to sell his dumb decision to retain McMahon. It was essentially Wooward who hired David Patrick because the program needed someone who would do the things the HC doesn't want to do...fundraise and recruit. MM's OUTSOURCES the fundraising. So when you hear all of the sob stories about how "LSU has no money"....it's because they have a coach who doesn't want to do anything to get it.

All of that MIGHT be fine if McMahon were a masterful tactician/in-game coach. Sadly, he's not. What LSU has right now in coach Voltron is a guy combining the worst part of Jones (poor tactician/coaching ability) with the worst part of Johnson (lack of desire to recruit/fundraise).

It is as if Woodward said in replacing Wade "is it possible to combine the worst aspects of the three LSU coaches who preceded Wade into one megabad coach"? He almost succeeded! The only thing missing is McMahon being a horse's arse like Brady.

I never thought that, but I did not see it being this bad.

It’s going to take way more NIL money to get players to play for a shitty coach and where’s that going to come from?.. I don’t see Reese or Thomas playing here next year much less other eligible players…Coach Shithead has had to replace the whole team every year he’s been here…

Thomas may stay for the same reason we were able to land him in the first place. He has a degenerative injury.

That’s been confirmed? I know it’s been speculative. Sad if so, pretty good guard when healthy.

Very good player who’s had shoulder, ankle and foot injuries. Anything is possible but it’s the injury to the foot that will continue to deteriorate.

do you now concede that you were wrong about Corey chest? your claim was that he is essentially the same player as future 2nd round pick and candidate for defensive POTY jo tugler and he was being mismanaged by McMahon.

chest has not produced with ole miss. is beard also mismanaging him?
