This team has not small balled all year, and I don't think it will change now.

I’m not asking for small ball, I’m asking for a few base hits.

On a technicality. It’s a 3-way tie in the loss column.

With a strong argument for USCe G3 to be a forfeit.

LSU won the SEC regular season title in 5 of the 6 seasons that they won a national title (and 6 of the 7 to reach the CWS Finals). The only year they didn’t was 2000, and that was because South Carolina broke the SEC win record that season.

We tied for the SEC title in 2009 and finished 1/2 game out of first place this year having a game cancelled.

We finished 3rd because we absolute stunk the last 3 series of the year. We went 3-3 against the two teams battling for 12th place in the league.

So i guess we did pretty damn well against the top of the league right?

Seven hits and ten walks and only five runs.

So yes?

We are 17-11 against Q1 teams and have, by far, the best road record in the SEC. You need to relax

There will be zero relax in me watching this team try and advance through the postseason.

Bodie and Choup, don’t waste your energy with rantards trying to have any dialogue about this team. It’s clear to anyone with eyes that things have changed with this team in the last 3 weeks. Our bats aren’t consistently saving the day like they have all season. We haven’t been as clutch and have our best hitters slumping. But you’ll get bombarded with how our offense is the best in the SEC which completely ignores the trend we’re on. I’ll keep rooting like hell, but we’re going to have to return to mid season form with the bats and defense.

Same, I’ll be there rooting them on in the post season, but I don’t know how anyone can feel confident in this team with what we have seen the last 3 weeks. Maybe we pull an Ole Miss and it all comes together for a three week stretch.

For the past month, the bats have to go ice cold at least once every 3 games.

This is why I don’t understand how all of these sunshine pumpers think that we’re just going to slug our way through the regionals. What have we seen from this team over the past month that makes you believe they can get 10 runs every time they need to? When you get to the postseason, teams shorten up their rotations, and the ones that do the little things right usually advance. I’m afraid this team just peaked too early

I think our pitching is actually starting to come around a bit. It was much better this past series against uga . I feel like we know we can trust Floyd and skenes for sure. Then Coleman isn’t terrible. After that you got a great performance from Guidry and Hurd was good.

Hurd hasn’t been bad in 3 of his last 4 appearances. Money can get some outs . We’re still hitting for power and we know that the guys are gonna be playing with more focus in the postseason just because of the win or go home nature. We’re playing better ball than we were in the two series before the last one so there are reasons to feel ok.

We know we have something with travinski and even though Morgan’s numbers aren’t reflecting it, he’s been hitting the ball hard. Crews still gets on base even when he’s in a slump . White was coming off a heater but cooled, then hit a bomb yesterday.

There are positives

Maybe the 6 times they scored 10 or more runs?

I agree that Floyd is looking very strong in his last few starts. BP debacle against State overshadowed what was a fantastic day for him.

We’re Jekyll and Hyde out of the bullpen. Herring, Guidry and Hurd can pitch great and have recently. But they also can have control issues which is still in there somewhere.

I agree with you. If we can get the pitching performance we had against UGA and our bats return to mid season form, we will be very competitive in the post season.

Too many K's looking this weekend. Get up there with the mentality to smash, not hoping to be walked

This. Our hitters seem to be in a groove of not getting serious about the AB until they have 2 strikes.

The trends have been there all year
Losing edwards and shores and Taylor from beginning of year really hurt
The question now is can lsu overcome those trends
Jay has sacrificed defense for offense in the two years he’s been here
The opponent pitching only gets better the deeper run you make
Will this formula work, we will find out
It’s gonna be a bumpy ride thru postseason with this team but I’ll enjoy it no matter where it ends up and at least we get some more home baseball games something we haven’t had since 2019

LSU was the best team in the sec this year

Maybe. Maybe not. We are right up there, though.
Of course we want to be the best and win the SEC, but teams have most definitely proven that you don’t have to be to win in Omaha.

Take last year for example.

Tennessee. Best team in the country, sitting at home for the CWS

Ole Miss. Slips in the post season through the back door and fights their way to the finish.
