Burrow has thrown for 9 touchdowns in 2 games. Seems pretty fricking tuned to me.
We need to figure out which of these backs we can rely on down the stretch.
They are only two games in and you believe the passing game in a new offense is fine-tuned? Meanwhile, CEH averaged 5.8 yards per carry. The objective is using the passing game to open up the run. The backs will get used to it and the runs will become more explosive as teams adjust to take away the top 3 receivers. Also, the young backs need to improve at pass protection if they want to play. You don't want a defense to key in on the run just because Emery, Davis-Price, or Curry is in the game.

LSU simply needs to run whatever is LSU’s offense. I think they should “work on” specific things in practice. Games should be about running your own offense in the given circumstance. Read the defense, run the appropriate LSU offensive play.

Calm the frick down, people. He said for Joe to play in the first half and let him put up ridiculous numbers for his Heisman run THEN put in Brennan and the freshmen running backs.
We all want Burrow to win the Heisman but it ain’t worth risking playing him in garbage time when we are up big and I’ll bet you anything that Burrow and the coaches feel the same way.

We need yhe young running backs to play so they can prove they understand the blocking conceopts so they can be counted on. I hope this includes some bigs runs.

Teams don’t beat Bama by running on them.
Exactly, Hunt Palmer broke down all the recent Bama loses. His find was rather simple. When a team beat Bama their quarterback had a career high passing day.

I'd rather Joe win the Heisman
I'd rather Coaches O and Ensminger hoist the NCAA Trophy high after the championship game January 2020.

I think you’re on the right track, but you’re missing the real point. We need to spend the next three weeks getting our running back room right. That is, we need to get Emery, CEH and TDP sharing the reps. But it’s about much more than running the ball. It’s about ball security and pass protection, too (and mostly). It’s also about getting swing passes and screens and turning them into explosive plays.
Right now we have mediocrity in CEH and much worse in Fournette. When Burrow drops back to throw we need defenses to be terrified of the threat coming out the backfield. That means the QB scramble, but mainly Emery in space. That will keep them from dropping back to clog the passing lanes. The swing pass to Fournette, on which he was beaten in the open field by a single defender, underscores the problem. Not even Northwestern is going to be afraid of that. Get Emery back there, and productive, and you will see the passing lanes open up. Texas left them open because of our reputation as a run first club. No one else is going to make that mistake until we prove we are dangerous back there.

sorry you can’t accept a differing opinion without feeling the need to insult somebody.
Man, this is the truth. As stated above, I’m not really in agreement with you about the running game, but the caustic replies to someone who simply has a different opinion is pathetic and a little depressing.

No....we need to run our fricking offense. Perfect what we do well and work on we don’t do well but don’t change the offense.

It would make it much easier to beat Florida. Auburn Bama and TAM if they have to be very aware of the running threat.
As for the current game. Let Burrow air it out. Let the freshman play in the second half.
If the guys cannot pass protect yet. You cannot play them and GEt burrow hit/hurt. Like the Southeastern game last year.

Play the best offense to win the game!

They are insecure, scared that things have been too good to be true and feel that breaking from it for even a second will somehow stunt our passing game momentum.

No. Our Oline is still VERY soft.
A quick passing game is what will take us where we want to be and will cover this weakness just fine.
Fine tune this passing offense as much as we can until we hit the heart of the schedule.
