I mean get rid of that stupid Miles clause if it exist. Hire the best possible man available,
make sure he can develop a QB and stay on sideline. Then go recruit multiple QB's that
match our style and open up the competition. Hopefully Harris works out but have a plan
b and c. If Miles gets the message hires the right coordinator this next season could be
what movies are made about with everything that's happened.
You realize we have said this for every OC hire Miles has made, right? Its always the opposite of what everyone thinks.
The only hire that was exactly what everyone had hoped was the Ed O hire. Everything else has been the worst or close to worst possible hire of the possible candidates. Les will not and cannot hire a new and upcoming OC. Why you ask?
It starts with offense. Les runs an offense that is not just outdated, but its run by almost no other out there. Any upcoming OC wants to become well-versed in CURRENT offensive trends, and learn that, or in many cases, its what they already know.
Les' offense is not being used by anyone, the terminology is not being used by anyone, and its likely not going to be used by anyone before too long.
Its like being an Engineering major, and you already have a career in oil & gas ready, and they ask you to take a class in civil engineering where everything is done by hand with a slide rule.

However, I do believe it was time for miles to go.
Me too, but, once Jimbo wanted 7 mil and LSU balked at that, no worthy replacement for Miles was available.
A current HC from schools like Memphis or Houston are not the best candidates. LSU football powers-that-be should start planning NOW to replace Miles with somebody on the same level as Jimbo. The problem is that they won't because they seem to be very reactive, rather than proactive -- JUST LIKE COACH MILES -- so, they have that in common.

And what for the toss dives into 9 and 10 man box? Les called those not Cam. Go look at the pro teams Cam worked for and tell me how many toss dives into that stacked a defense you see.
Serious question, so what do you think happened while Mett was here? Was the passing game just so good that Miles just let it happen? And every other year Miles has thrown the brakes on?

Byrd, just straight up said after Crowton was fired, in 08 Miles was calling the plays.
Confirms what we already knew..
