Yeah agree. On aspect of this offense that dawned on me last night is I can’t recall a single pass play where the receiver (wr, te, rb) was wide open on the catch. Indicates to me defenses are not confused by this offensive scheme; ever. To me, pretty good indicator that reinforces the lacking creativity of this scheme.

There is no imagination or creativity. The only bright spot rushing wise is the outside zone out of the pistol. It took Sloan FOREVER to even try it. It seem logical to me to expand yse of the pistol THEN Playaction off of that, it would be a HUGE boost to have a PA aspect to the offense, it would slow down the rush, allow TE's to get open, allow more time on these long developing downfield routes they love so much, pull safeties down to get 1v1 on the outside to give the WRs an advantage and would help Nuss which is the biggest need. The offense has ZERO flow, zero rythym, Sloan is not qualified to be an OC on this level. The biggest thing is it's BKs deal, BK always "teaches" a guy his offense, let's him coach QBs then promotes him to OC, its why he tried to bring his former QB Tommy Rees with him from ND. BKs offense doesnt create easy plays like top OCs. Last year the offense wasn't special. Daniel's, BTJ and Nabers were amazing. There were a ton of times every game where the play was shite but Jayden would scramble and make plays out of nothing. The problems begin and end with Kelly. Hes never turned over control of the offense to a different way of thinking, this is exactly the same as Les bringing in different OCs but not allowing for a philosophy change or flexibility or just allowing the OC to have control. It's really hard to fix the problem when you ARE the problem

Joe is a good QB coach but not good OC… runs the same crap all the time! I never want to hear how good our oline is again. Will Campbell & Emery are average at best. They must have took the off season completely off! No improvement at all.

Y'all would love the creativity on offense if Jayden was the QB.

You can't be creative when your QB is afraid of his own shadow and can't execute.

OCs call the offense they believe their QB can execute. The Burrow/Brady offense would eat Nuss alive... we apparently are hell bent on not moving on from him so we're stuck running a version of a middle school flag football team offense.

Very public word out of the program was that they "gave him too much" and have shunk the playroom.

I don't think Sloan is a great OC, but he's pretty hamstrung with Nuss as a QB. Imagine calling plays for a guy w no deep ball ability, no mobility and who panics and throws off his back foot so even check downs get questionable.

That’s what happens when you promote a QB coach to OC who has very little experience as an OC. Only previous OC job was La Tech. Lol

This smells like Les all over again. Sloan has no power to overrule what Kelly wants to do. JD5 could just make shity plays into something special.

if LSU wants to throw gobs of stupid money somewhere, Joe Brady should be the recipient. It appears that many here don't realize but if LSU didn't have Brady in 2019, LSU would have been the same team it was in 2018.
And top skill players would want to play for him imo.

This.

Center and left guard play in particular were just atrocious.

We gave up seven sacks and eleven tackles for loss, which just can't happen in a winning effort.

Never going to happen. We run 100% of the time when we are in the pistol. I wish fanduel let you bet on individual plays because I would be a millionaire by now if I bet "run" every time we came out in the pistol.

If Sloan & Hankton are truly ”CO-coordinators”, why not give Hankton a go at play calling? Not really gonna hurt anything at this point and most coaches do things differently when given a chance….even guys on the same staff.

Isn't it ridiculous that a program at LSUs level is so basic

Nuss is a big problem right now. He can't handle pressure at all. The pass protection is given him 3+ seconds. That's all he should need but he takes too long to read through his progressions. Our WRs can’t get separation

You ever think the fact that Nuss is a big problem could be because the route tree is garbage and the receivers aren’t open. Not to mention he has to pretend he’s either going to hand off or run which not only does nothing as a fake but also wastes time.

I think "lack of creativity" is just something fans throw around when things aren't going well.

There were some pretty creative play designs yesterday where they simply failed to execute.

They also tried to break tendencies and everyone here complained, for example the run up the middle on 3rd down then the jet sweep on 4th. The jet sweep was a perfect play call, Green just didn't execute.

Regarding the Joe Brady stuff, 2019 LSU didn't do anything super special or creative, per various coaches. They just executed at a very high rate.
