I work with a couple of big time Bama fans and they both were petrified that we would get Smart and Nick would give Steele another shot. The minute this happened they both went crazy, they said it couldn't have gone better for Bama. I just hope this isn't as horrible as it sounds but I'm not optimistic.

I'm assuming the OP has never hired anyone...or has a horrible résumé himself and is projecting.
You hire stellar people based on stellar resumes for stellar jobs.
You hire mediocre people with mediocre resumes when you are comfortable with mediocrity.
I have never settled for mediocrity in my life, business or otherwise.
Do any of you think Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, FSU or any elite program would hire the Kevin Steele we know today as a DC?

I will apply that philosophy equally to Miles & Steele. Steele is a really BAD hire using any benchmarks.
