It's a raw team, but there's a lot of talent... going to be interesting what happens with the positioning once Watson (I guess Cabrera goes to the bench) and Smith (no idea who comes out) come back.

It’s a bit of a down pitching year overall to this point, but if they can figure it out a deep run is possible.

I love baseball season.

Agreed Hess is an absolute monster behind the mound, is he gone after this year ? Or staying another?

Hess is starting to look as much like and Ace as most other years. We still have a lot of options in the pen. If another couple step up, we could end up pretty solid.

I realize you said not until this point. Just saying that I'm feeling more optimistic, especially after tonight.

He will be eligible this season and will be a pretty high draft pick barring injury.

I am guessing they are being super cautious with Watson because there is no real need to rush him back. We will have some good problems to have if this offense ever gets to full strength. I don't think Cabrera ever finds himself on the bench. My guess would be Jordan, but the time to decide that will come sooner than the infield. I am thinking Cabrera sits when they plan to pitch him, giving Jordan a chance to play.

The infield seems more difficult to pick right now, but there is much more time for this to play out. Just guessing, Hughes will be the odd man out when the dust settles, which is really hard to say because he is playing so great. Just over time I think Slaughter will win out and be the one to make himself impossible to bench. Slaughter at first sometimes is not out of the question either.

Bottom line, we will have some really really solid players on the bench if this team ever gets healthy. If the pitching comes around with Labas and Storz coming back, the sky is the limit. And by sky, I mean another trip to Omaha.

Seems like we are getting shut down early in every game and then come on strong from about the 5th inning on in all the wins. Anyone have guess to why that is? A lot of the games the pitching has done the same.

Any decent pitching is hard to hit sight unseen. What youre seeing is good hitters going through the lineup and adapting. Its not unusual.

Our starting pitching struggled the first few games. Its showing signs of stabilising now. Get a couple good starts out of gilbert and let Hess stay on course and you'll forget this conversation

No fricking way Cabrera goes to the bench when Watson comes back, it'll be Bryce Jordan who sits. I think Webre should be playing LF now instead of Bryce. Beau has been playing well at 1st so far.

You got your Jordans backwards. But I agree Webre should be getting more ABs. Put him at DH instead of Bain. I highly doubt Bain remains a contributor at the plate when the competition revs up

It’s LSU baseball so at the end of the day success shouldn’t be a surprise

I'll say it again "sit Cabrera when Watson returns to CF"? You must fricking nuts or don't know what the shite your looking at. Your OF should be Antoine in LF Watson in CF & Cabrera in RF. That's the talent and Webre as your next up. DH the other Jordan, like I said leave the other Jordan on 1st for now until Smith comes back from his injury then move Jake to 1st. DH the Jordan's or sub them late in the game. Pawl won't do this because their seniors. This isn't a hate on the Jordan's but when all is healthy again you want your best players on the field.
