They're spending the same $20 million that LSU is, in a major metro area with high-impact brands, and have pumped millions into facilities.

As most have said, this isn't the Vandy of the old.

You're going to continue to see programs with wealth in major metros be more successful in the revenue share era. SMU, TCU, Vandy, Northwestern, GaTech, etc.

I heard some CFB sharps/podcast hosts say that the separation from teams in the betting market are a lot closer than they used to be. Basically the portal has given more depth and taken talent from the top 5. Now teams in the 5-30 range are a lot closer in the point spreads than they used to be.

I think it is maybe more of a credit to Vanderbilt. Clark has really improved that program

No! Should be how gullible you have become. Yeah and Texas Oklahoma, and Penn State were going to be world beaters too. BTW the earth is round not flat

We handled Sellers last weekend and we will handle Pavia. LSU by 14 or more.

LSU is still a top 10-15 power rated team, Vandy being favored has much more to do with their deviation from their norm than LSU from its typical team.

Vandy has far better D and better weapons. Better HC and they are home.

This game cones down to not allowing big plays like the 72 yard run by carolina and eliminating offensive turnovers.

NIL has leveled the playing field quite a bit. Pavia is a gamer.

Doesn't matter, we still win by 10+.

Only place Vandy is better is at QB. If Nuss has a good game say bye bye to Vandy. Our D will handle the rest. LSU by 14 or better

Are you implying that Vandy does not spend money on their Athletic program?

LSU spent 55.4M on their current football program
Vandy spent 33.6M on their current football program

Anytime an entity spends 22M more on something, the product should be superior to the one 22M less. If this is confusing to you or anyone else, I can’t help you any further in any capacity whatsoever.

It's good for football! Blue bloods in college football should not exist. It's no fun if the same teams keep winning titles!

With what we spend on coaching and NIL it’s an absolute embarrassment and anyone stating otherwise is in denial.

The data driven power rankings, which generally correlate with the data used to set the lines. The SP+ rankings have LSU No. 17. For context, Alabama is 13. Miami is 15. Georgia is 12. While certainly you would want/expect LSU to be better, it's not like their power rating is bad.

But where things differ from almost every other year is Vanderbilt is No. 19 whereas in most years they are well into the 40's, 50's, 60's. So the point remains that LSU being a road underdog is more of a credit to Vanderbilt because their current high ranking is the anomaly relative to their history, not that LSU is ranked historically low.
