Alleva hire along with Johnny Jones and Kevin Steele. Alleva screwed LSU out of getting Aranda a year ago and sabotaged this season to try to get rid of Miles. He almost got his way as well.
Yeah, let's totally ignore Torina, Sell, Jay Clark, O, etc and the fact that Caldwell was the best young name in the country at the time.

Most of the jack-offs who come on the Rant and talk out of their arse about women's basketball obviously are NOT paying attention.
They were down to 6 healthy scholarship players tonight. Jenna Deemer has missed the last 3 games with some sort of illness and Ann Jones sprained her ankle in practice yesterday and was also out.
Yes, they have scored in the 40's a lot lately. Why? Because Nikki has had to intentionally take the air out of the ball on offense because they have no bodies. If she had a few more players, she would LOVE to run, press, trap, and play fast, but she can't. So THAT is why the scores have been so low. She knows that is the only way she can stay in games right now, and they have defended well, but just hit one bad dry spell where they go ice cold.
And no, she isn't going anywhere after this season, even if they end up 1-15 in the league. We have been through this before. You try coaching a team that has lost an SEC player of the year candidate (Ballard), a second-team all SEC player (Moncrief), a freshman who would have likely been all-freshman SEC (Ayana Mitchell), a decent backup post player (Amichia), and now your best 3-point shooter (Deemer) and a starting post player (Jones).
If everyone is healthy for next year, as they should be, added to the two transfers who are waiting to play next year, they can win 20 games. And if not, then Nikki sees the door.
Ditto. No need on expanding on what's been said here.
Most of the roaches that come out of the woodwork to talk about women's basketball on this board, don't even follow the team. With all the defections and injuries, this season is a throwaway year. No need in getting uptight over every single loss. This team is devoid of talent. No need in beating a dead horse every coupla days.

I'm not one who comes out of the woodworks to bash, I've long supported Nikki, but I don't think next year is a given. It's going to get worse because February is loaded with ranked teams, the last one being nationally televised against USC and we might lose by 50. That ain't gonna be a good look heading into the offseason.
It's obvious we've slipped on the court with or without the injuries/defections and damn sure have fallen off a cliff in attendance.

Pretty much what happens every season because she can't recruit.

Nikki likes the booze, she knows she gone after this year and gives 0 shits
I heard they held tryouts for the track team and softball players right before the season started just to be able to fill a roster. Sad times indeed

I think there were actually 2 players that made the team that actually played some basketball elsewhere.

Why does the injury excuse used EVERY year she is here. I agree she has been very unlucky in that department but injuries happen. With her trend, it will likely be the same next year. The issue is, even with an injury, its not like we have anyone decent that can play, which goes back to her shitty recruiting.
Amichia left like lots of other players who have came in during the Caldwell era. That should be a major red flag, and it should be a flag when we constantly have to host tryouts for walkons to fill a decent amount of the roster.

Not really. She had a recruiting class of bad apples that got kicked off once a year, with no other serious discipline issues besides those 3, but nobody has just quit the team like Amichia.

Well that's just dumb. You don't "hire someone cheaper" if you want better results. You hire someone for market value of a top notch coach.

Injuries haven't been an excuse that's been used every year since she's been here. Additionally, let's not get TOO carried away here. This is her first bad season since she's been here. She's not reached the level that coach Gunter and Chatman did, but we didn't completely fall off the map. The one thing that has been consistently under par is her recruiting and it is THAT, which may end up being her undoing.

Ding, ding, ding!
Nobody gives a flip about women's basketball results except for the parents and girlfriends.

They play quarters in women's basketball?

Don't care until we fire this imposter who is "coaching" our team and stealing our money.

Huh?
Yet another poster who likes to shoot from the hip and talk out of their arse.
There were going to be 12 scholarship players on this team if things had gone the way they should have....and that group of 12 would have led LSU to the NCAA tournament. Ballard, Moncrief, and Mitchell as a group would have been as good as any group of 3 players in the SEC outside of South Carolina.
But this is the Rant, where the truth NEVER gets in the way of a good shite-fest.

No...that's not what happened. They went into summer with 12 scholarship players healthy and ready to go. Ballard got kicked off during the summer. Amichia quit school out of the blue before practice started and Moncrief and Mitchell were injured in the first week of the season. That put them at 8 scholarship players, and that is when they held the tryouts so they could have enough practice bodies.
Blame the coach all you want, but when you lose 4 pieces of a 12 player roster and you haven't played but 3 or so games, that is hard to overcome.

They changed from halves to quarters this season.

So when LSU was putting thousands of people in the PMAC when they were winning and making final fours, it was only parents and girlfriends?

Neither part is true.
