There will be heavy competition for 3B and 2B among Caraway, Simpson, Dardar, Reaves, and Pearson.

Arrambide is a lock at C based on the fall.
Yorke at 1B.
Milam at SS.

I really hope Cowan can be the guy he was mid season last year. He was getting touched up a little towards the end and I hope that wasn't signs of things to come. We have so many power arms it is a nice change of pace when we can bring in a guy like that. He can completely shut down a lineup if the stuff is on.

It’s not too early; football is over and basketball is dormant.

He really only had like 3 bad outings, granted they all basically came in a row.

A&M weekend there was a very tight zone and they just sat change up and he missed a couple. Then against USC, he gave up 2 "triples" that I'd argue both should have been caught. Then ran into the buzz saw that was June 2025 Little Rock.

People forget he shut down Arkansas in Omaha.

The pitching the the most exciting part of the 26’ team. They will have a great staff

This team is scary deep... likely the deepest CJJ has had yet.

How do they gel as a group? How do they face adversity? How do they grind? How doe they pull miracle victories out... these are the things that will put this team in the same stratosphere with past National Champion teams.

Hand up. I did forget about that.
Hopefully, that gave him the confidence boost he needed going into the off season.

Based on the stats I have of the fall (excluding yesterday at SE) the pitching staff has 196/105 K/BB in 154 IP. When you take into account that 50 BB come from 5 individuals that is pretty good stuff.

Grant Fontenot has been a pleasant surprise and can maybe give you some back end set up type innings. It is looking like Sheerin will be a pretty good option to look at for a closer role.

Cooper Williams is looking like he may take a step up and get one of those weekend spots if he continues in a positive trajectory from fall. He has been really good this fall.

Yorke was peppering the cars in RF during BP
shattered two windows I saw

Serna making a real push to get his bat in lineup somewhere
Braun is impressive with bat as well but the SEC is a big step up for true fr

Arrambide will do most of the catching
Yorke looks like he has 1B locked down as well

3B and 2B will battle until sec play starts and likely mix and match all season

I don't see two dominant starters like you had last season but it definitely looks like the staff is deeper so far

He may not need the starters to go as long with the arms he can run out there, even Jay mentioned it might look a little different on the mound this season comparted to last

As of now I think Serna will get the reps that Arrambide had last year and Arrambide will have the reps Hernandez had. Arrambide has had a huge fall which is great to see. He is the leader in avg, OBP, and has the most extra base hits with 8, 2 of them being homers. Leads the team in RBI this fall as well. Most impressive thing for him is he has the best K% on the team with only 5K in 43 PA.

Daniel Harden is one to watch as well to push for ABs. Possible DH candidate. I like what he has done this fall so far.

Sad to say I haven’t seen any fall action so far. My observations from BPB reports have been pretty promising.

Seems like Serna and Braun are ahead of most true freshman at the plate. Yorke seems to be athletic enough to get a shot at starting first baseman. Harden appears to be a nice option as outfielder #4.

Evans seems primed to be your Friday night guy. Williams could be a weekend starter if having a lefty in the rotation is a priority.

Love what I’m hearing about Paz in limited innings. Sheerin, Fontenot, and Garcia seem to be pitching well.

Defense at 3rd seems to be biggest defensive concern.

Arrambide has been using the back side a lot. He was previously trying to hit everything out of the yard

That would be a great development to see. Can’t be a great hitter without the ability to do that.

It will be crucial for Serna to be able to contribute to help keep Arrambide fresh. If Arrambide continues to progress his bat will not be able to come out the lineup on weekends. Could play 1B or DH on the days he is not behind the plate. Offseason workouts/conditioning and during season recovery will be huge to keep Arrambide productive at the plate.

Do you think the pitching will be as good as advertised?

Because last year someone said it wasn’t and we won the NCAA Championship.
