Washington is treating this game as their opportunity to make a national statement. A f*cking tiger? At practice?
Well, they've been beating U$C fairly regularly the last few years with little acknowledgement for them or toward $C losing.

I think some of you are reading too much into the Tiger. Sark said it was simply to get them used to seeing it so they don't distracted when they trip to LSU (he had it set up inside the fence going to practice, players didnt know about it until they turned the corner and ran into it). Also, I highly doubt the fact it would garner media attention was lost on him

We had a Husky on the sideline.

A couple vids of the kitty cat HERE
quote:
The tiger is a 16-month old Bengal, weighing 300 pounds (apparently she will grow to 600). She is from the Walk on the Wild Side animal preserve in Canby, Ore., and regularly makes appearances at things like fairs.
Steve Higgs, the tiger's handler, said he thought it was a joke when the call first came a few months ago wondering if they had a tiger that could come to a football practice.
"I was quite confused about what it was all about,'' he said. "Then I realized the game was at LSU.''

Or....it was just something fun to do that also grabbed media attention. I like it....and think the Tigers should see it as a compliment.

I heard Les brought in a Husky to instill some fear of Washington coming to Baton Rouge, but Mike ate him.

Indeed.
And the female Tiger is not THAT much smaller than Mike. Mike is 485 pounds, an adult male Tiger. This was a 16 month old female who weighed in at 300.
Anyways, Sark was just having some fun and getting some media attention while at the same time using it as a teaching moment (on weeding out distractions).

sounds a little bit like the Mett-cave deal. These athletes are human too and sometimes the mind/psyche is more easily affected that we might like to admit. i see the tiger at Udub's practice as a desensitization technique employed by the Huskie coaches to maybe take one less element of the tiger stadium mystique out of the question.
and i can tell you it wont be nearly enough to save them from the real Tigers.

Not to split hairs, but I don't think female Bengals get to 600 lbs. Mike is full-grown, male, and part Siberian and weighs around 500.

Yeah, SC whooped us last year. They are LOADED at wide receiver. Running back is the one position spot they are surprisingly not loaded at, though Redd may have fixed that situation. However, not loaded for SC is a relative term for everyone else.
