Yes unless the Title IX issues on his watch end up burning down the program

Of course he is worth every penny we paid him THAT year. Is he worth the money we paid him the last 2 years and this ridiculous buy out? Fk no.

Buyouts are to prevent poaching, no one was poaching O, ever.

And watch the price of season tickets skyrocket next year due to the buy out. Football, basketball and baseball.

Yes, you always take a championship, esp a BOSS TEAM that we had in 2019. Made for long lasting memories and came 12 years after the last title and could do me good for 10 years after 2019. However, we need a new coach and take 2-3 years to get back on top but realistically 4-5 years so that would put us at another natty in 2025-26 season which is only 6 years after the last one.

A coach goes 0-12 for two years then wins a NC in year 3. He then goes 0-12 for the next 10 years. You like that trade-off? I certainly don't. I want us to be in the mix for the championship most years, but I won't trade a decade of misery for a single championship.

That’s a dumb hypothetical. Why are you giving him 10 years after. Would I take 2 seasons of 0-12 (we have not done)? For the greatest season ever? Yep

Hell no.. But Joe Burreaux was and so was his supporting cast. It was the Joe Brady and Joe Burreaux show. Defense not..We could out score anyone. Even Bama..

Yes. We ended up with O cuz we had a shitty AD AND cuz no one really wanted the job. The task in 2016 was tall because the new coach would have to take LSU out of the stone ages on offense and for whatever reason LSU wasn't viewed as the destination that we all know it to be.

Sure O is horrible now but he did get us out of the stone ages and he did show that literally ANYONE can win a natty at LSU.

Despite the team being worse on the field than it was in 2016, LSU is viewed as a better job today than it was prior to O.

a natty is worth more than 10 or 11 wins for six seasons.

he gave 1 great year, 1 good year, two average years and 2 stinkers.

that works for me since we won a natty.

since the ap poll came out we've won a natty once every 21.5 years.

since saban we win a natty every 7.33 years.

Absolutely - YES!

And it showed that Ed Orgeron could win BIG at LSU.

Now the job is one of the best in the country. We are about to capitalize on it and bring in a stud coach.

I expect our program to begin the climb back in 2023.
