There was literally zero evidence that one had to go on to EVER say Miles knew best.
The whole Welter debacle is so unfathomable that there are times to have to wonder if Miles could possibly be THAT incompetent.
That type shite is why people say things like Miles has favorites. When people say that, it's actually a case of people finding the idea that Miles is that fricking stupid to be hard to believe. So. They think he had favorites.
Me personally, I finally acquiesced to the fact that he was just incompetent.

No man I'm not acting like that. I can pretty much assure you he didn't blossom into NFL material his senior year. Lack of talent was not the reason he wasn't starting.

Debo was always good but he was getting better and better ever year. He should have gotten more time S a Junior but he was one of those guys who hit their stride later in their career.

All of them actually. Every damn player who played under Les Miles would have been a first round draft choice anywhere else. Even clipboard holders would have started and been big time anywhere else in the world.

Kragthorpe would have been awesome in Jacksonville

The Jaguars?
Maybe.

Chief was a remarkable evaluator of talent.

He was and that's exactly why he didn't start.

Jones would have been undersized as a Mike LB, however he was always better than Louis and Welter. He and Kwon should both have been starting.

Actually, we have had numerous LB's over the years undersized for the NFL but faster than shite. That made them exceptional in the college ranks.

Beckwith and Debo are the two best example that I know of that prove I know more than Les Miles about football talent and who should play.

Why can't it be that his ceiling is very high and just began to develope into the player that he is later in college??
Very possible, but we are also starting to learn that Miles never let his position coaches and coordinators do their job to their full potential. We know Miles had favorites and was stubborn. It's not out the realm of possibility that this particular situation was Miles' doing.

Initially in 2012 and 2013, he was behind Barrow at Will. Kwon started out as a Sam his first 2 years. in 2014, Kwon moved to Will and that again left Debo on the bench.
I never understood starting Louis over him, because Louis was always just "a guy" to me. I know Chief didn't give that starting Mike position over to a player he felt wasn't ready to "QB" the front 7, but OLBs presumably had less responsibility and started/ saw a lot of time earlier (see Kwon).
a Barrow/ Kwon/ Debo (2013) or Beckwith/ Kwon / Debo (2014) starting group would've been killer IMo.

They're now flourishing in the NFL. You can't take that away from Miles.

He was behind Alexander, Welter was MLB we just have some people that heard a comment during an NFL game and reacted to it. Same stuff different day. I do believe LSU should always put their best players on the field though even if you have two MLB that are better than everyone else, try him as a OLB. Why not? Especially if they have the speed to cover which most at LSU do.

Deion was a Cornhusker commit out of New Orleans Jesuit and LSU flipped him.
Debo was always a gamer. He was ready to contribute before his senior year. Was low on the depth chart mainly because of his recruiting status, rated as and average 3 star. There were blue chippers in front of him until his senior year. Yet, whenever he saw the field before then, he looked great. It was definitely a coaching oversight that he wasn't moved up sooner.

Why do ppl blame steel and chief when miles is the one who made the call to start others in front of jones? As far as jones he probly should have seen more snaps he always played well when he was on the field his weight must've been the issue he was 202 until the spring of his sr. Year that's the only thing I can think of that kept him off the field.
