Verge isn’t interested in Week Zero games

Jacques Doucet did a sitdown with Verge and asked him what his thoughts were regarding week Zero games…
I don’t love them either but if our opponents for two damn straight years has one then we definitely should as well.

It would have less impact this year but he's wrong. Breaking in a new staff, most of the roster new starters, etc. Only side it's going to really impact next year is defense who will be breaking in a new secondary. As of now FSU doesn't have a game zero either.

You would think Kelly could get us to a place where a program like LSU doesn’t need to boat race a team in week zero go be ready.

I very much believe it made a difference in the outcome.
It's nice to have a tune up game to work out some kinks. It's one thing if we were facing a lesser team week 1, but I mean we are facing a very talented FSU team.
