You can tell Edwards isn't used to closing a game - he headed to the dugout after that punchout - then realized it was the final out of the game.

The one Dugas hit was a harder turn.

Dugas play was a standard 4-6-3 with a hard hit ball. In what world is that more difficult than a 5-3? Have you ever stepped foot on a diamond? Do you have any idea how not routine a 5-3 double play is?

I get you’re argument but you’re getting into some pretty damn stupid territory trying to argue it.

I was half-watching but looked like it should have been a 5-4-3 DP. Looked like the 3B ran several steps back to the bag. Unnecessary. Just turn it through the middle.

I played baseball through college, so yeah

The Dugas ball was more difficult because of the feed wasn’t great and the shortstop didn’t make a clean turn (or he just fricked up his steps). The 5-3 on this instance was much easier. 3B just made a crappy, hurried throw.

So the play they fricked up was easier because they fricked up the other play worse?

Jesus Christ I couldn’t make this shite up if I wanted to

No I said the 5-3 was routine as frick
You’re ignoring that they literally had 3 feet out of 90 covered in that baseline and we just so happened to hit it hard within that 3 feet. Shut the frick up about routine.

This is definitely what should have happened.

It’s never easy for a 3rd baseman to run back to the bag and then rush a throw across the diamond.

The only time that should ever happen is when the ball is fielded behind the bag.

Although I think the plan was to just keep the winning run off of third and hope for the best at first. I don’t agree with that strategy but that feels like what the plan was.

With your level of baseball knowledge I hope like hell they’ve fired that coach by now.

No dude, the play was easier because the 3B fielded a sharply hit grounder, took a couple of steps to the bag and then just had to make a routine throw. The 4-6-3 was more difficult because of the fielding, the turn, the throw, etc.

2B having to wheel and throw, SS taking the feed cleanly, then making the relay...the percentage for mistake goes up much more than the type of 5-3 they jacked up.

They didn’t do any of them worth a shite though so it doesn’t matter

Am I crazy or did only 3 of those result in a hit?
