college football isn't set up for schedule equality, whih is 1 reason a playoff suggestion is down right fricking stupid
How does a lack of schedule equality support a non-playoff system?

Maybe, maybe not but I don't think many people would be interested in seeing us play the schedule we play, endure the schedule fatigue we endure, and then have to go play 2-3 other games.
But what if the alternative were to go undefeated and have no shot at a championship? Somehow teams in the NFL, FCS (DIV 1-AA), division II and III, and high school all can handle playoffs. What is so special about FBS football that the players all collapse from exhaustion at the end of a 12 game season and can't handle a playoff?

That would suck but I think most of the time the BCS would let us have a shot at the championship.

We just may end up facing some teams who may not be as banged up around the time the playoffs would start like we are.
Some people may be fine with that, some may not. Some folk might think a playoff would work to our advantage better than the BCS, some may not.

i just hate when people use the words blinded by there love of lsu. its ok that every other fanbase is blinded by there love of there team but on the rant a small minority have to talk shite or make a big deal out of some of our undying love of lsu. a playoff system is not the answer i'm in favor of a plus 4 after the bowls. therefore a championship game would occur around the 20th of jan. the problem i see with this is the nfl wants zero competition during there conference championship games.

If we could get 2 bye weeks year and year out, we might have another NC.
2007 we would have been easily undefeated.
2007 we would have been easily undefeated.

+4 = playoff. but i like this format the best. it doesnt take away from the season or the bowls..and it inhances all 4 of the big bowls with the winners getting the oppertunity to play in the BCSCG..

[quote]Someone needs to tell the Utah senator that Joseph Smith would not like his focus on college football instead of it being on Joseph Smith[/q
What does Joseph Smith have to do with college football and the US Senate?

Without the SECCG, LSU would have all of zero BCS NCs.
Couldn't agree more. I used to hate the SECCG concept, but it has done more for the SEC getting into the big game.

there should be a playoff system.i guess it will start with 4.1 versus 4 a 2 versus 3.then the winners will play for the championship.

College football does not need government intervention.
If there is one thing I would like to see the government get involved in it is college football.
All of you anti-playoff people are just blinded by your love of LSU. The system has worked out in our favor a few times, so you support the system to add validity to our championships. If we had been the team with an identical record that got left out any year, you would all be crying about how unfair a two-team playoff is. Just imagine, close your eyes and really think about how you would feel if it had been LSU, and not Auburn, that went undefeated in 2004 and never even had the chance to compete for a championship. Not a person on this board would support a two-team playoff if the shoe were ever on the other foot.
Can anybody name one thing that the government got involved in and made it better??

Didn't help Auburn and took Tenn out in '01...

are you guys really this fricking stupid? USC gets an "extra" bye week because the Pac 10 doesn't have a championship game, and they choose to play the last week of the regular season. They also don't get the revenue generated by a championship game, the exposure of one, and the chance to catapult themselves into the BCSNG that one provides. Without the SECCG, LSU would have all of zero BCS NCs. If you'd rather have an extra bye week than a championship game, then you're buttfrick stupid.
maybe it would be easier for usc to do away with the round robin shite and play a conference championship game.

Must be some type of regional Oklabonics

Prodigal Tiger, I really hate that the Super Bowl is upon us, because last year's NFL season was a perfect example of why playoffs don't always produce a "clear" best team.
Last year, the Patriots finished undefeated...including a close win over their eventual Super Bowl opponent, the Giants.
The Giants won in the fading moments of the game, making them the "champions".
But does anyone really believe that the Super Bowl determined which team was the "best" of last season???
The Patriots split against the Giants and simply made the mistake of losing to the Giants on the wrong Sunday. If they had lost at the end of the season and won in the Super Bowl, we'd all be talking about the Patriots as one of the all-time best teams ever.
But because they made the mistake of beating them during the season and losing during the last moments of the Super Bowl, we are supposed to believe that the Giants are the unquestionable best team from last year's NFL season???
I don't.
