Is Leonard really faster? I have to doubt that from what I've seen.

Imagine Fournette AND Guice in the backfield at the same time. I can only imagine it and hope one day it becomes a reality. Who would defense key on?

This is what we need at Bama. The two of them. Then air it out to Travon and Malachi every so often. We will need to establish a successful running game to burn some clock and keep our defense somewhat rested.

Yes. He's bigger, faster, and more powerful. He's the best back in college football when he's healthy.

Leonard seems to take it to the house allot more than Wun Guice breaks one.
Guise certainly looks faster than LF. Maybe it is his quickness in traffic.
I love LF but don't lose any confidence when Guice is in there.

You started this thread two weeks ago and it sucked then too

Get both mixed in and confuse the frick out of these teams. Run hurry up offense with both out of the read option or using RPO's. Send one out to motion hike the ball and put it in one of their bellies pull it out, pass or give or keep. We could do this all game and no one could stop it if ran correctly. This need to be put in for our big games. We need to have some big time wrinkles for these big SEC games and we need to be practicing this stuff now perfecting it. Catch lots of teams of guard when you switch game plans up and attack the other teams weakness. OM won't be able to stop LSU and our Defemse looks to get better and better. They weren't even fired up this week. Wait until next week!!! I think OM is in for a huge surprise. Coach O is gonna have these boys determined to beat the crap out of these boys. GT

Thank you. You would think that he didn't break LSU's single season rushing record as a True Sophomore.

3rd down role? So you want our running back, coming off an injury, to be in on passing plays where he might have to block? Would be tight seeing cheap Ole Miss defenders go at his legs.
You just let them split carries. Simple as that.

When was the last time you have seen a healthy Fournette get hawked? Guice has been hawked a handful of times. Guice ran a lasered 4.50 right before his freshman season. Back on topic I apologize: If LF is gonna play you start him and you let him do his thing. One of Arkys RBs had 180 last night. Oh and we actually are a threat of spreading the ball out in the passing game.

Everyone talks about LF taking it to the house so much. They fail to realize that when all 11 defenders are stacked close to the LOS that all he has to do is break a couple arm tackles and its wide open. A lot like Guice's long run last night.
With a little more of a passing threat it will be interesting to see what defenses do when LF is in the game. Guice is shifty and makes people miss by bouncing around. LF runs over them. Different styles that work well for each player but we haven't exactly played any big physical defenses other that Wisc and Auburn and we see how those games played out. Now with a new coach, qb, and play calling it will have to play itself out and hopefully the coaches know which still will be most effective or won't be scared to pull LF when he isn't getting the yards

quote:Won't work the way you want. Even when both are 100%, neither are as good blocking as our fullback is. Neither are the deep threat that our WRs are, especially the top 3 of Dural, Dupre and Chark.
Get both mixed in and confuse the frick out of these teams.
Neither back presents the same physical matchup difficulty that our TE does.
Having both in will make the offense a lot more predictable.
Seriously, if you put them both in, what are you going to do? Split LF or Guice out, have him come in motion, and run the jet sweep? You think that won't be jumped bigtime by the defense? You don't think the linebackers and safeties aren't going to be all over either of them on a screen?
quote:This isn't in our scheme, and we're about to go into the meat of the schedule. You can tweak things mid-season, you can't put a new system in and expect it to work in a week. We're running Cam's plays, it's why we see play-action on 3rd down deep routes. Those are the plays they've learned and practiced.

Leonard is an underrated pass blocker. I could definitely see him being used on play action and in pass protection from the gun.

Brosette will be better than Williams imo

I want to see LF finally be able to run without 10 men in the box since a 10 yard pass is now possible.

Good Lord people we have yet to see my boy Guice against a defense with some talent, and you guys think giving Fournette a few touches here and there will beat Ole Miss? Fournette isn't a "few touches" type of back. He needs the rock to pound the defense. You then bring Guice in as a change up. with 10-12 carries and a few passes thrown his way. If you are going to try to sprinkle Fournette in, it's not gonna work. You're better off letting Ducre pound the rock if you're going to limit Fournette like that.
Fournette will be ready to take on Ole Miss, no doubt in my mind.

Fournette is next level good. If he is ready, he starts.

It worked pretty well with Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.
