This means Columbia is still a legitimate option IMO. Boom said it with a straight face.
I bet you actually had some shite eating smirk on your face while typing that.

If things go well, at least half those roads will be reopened by Thursday, and the vast majority will be opened by Saturday. Also, many of those roads don't see much traffic anyway according to the USCe fans.
Its very much still an option. The other places have been contacted, but if things are much better by Wednesday afternoon, it will be played in Columbia.
You are aware the roads aren't the only issue, right?

Point is this isn't something that can be decided in 15 minutes and we don't know what is going on. They aren't dragging their feet just to piss you off.

So because a game happens to be nearby for once, and people are losing their homes including some loss of life, you'll be pissed that the game was reasonably moved to another location due to logistics? Some of you are ridiculously self-absorbed and selfish people.
Cool story bro. My family is in the affected areas, I've even brought supplies to people who needed them. What have you done for the people affected?

Stop being ridiculous.
People here are well aware of storm tragedies and sympathize with them. People are talking about the game, making plans, and trying to continue living their lives. Obviously no one wishes bad things on the people affected by the storms and I am sure people hope that they come out of the best they can.

i think the biggest issue right now is having the necessary emergency personnel available for the game. If Obama just sent 1300 national guardsmen to SC for relief, that kind of tells me they need all the help they can get right now from that group of people, and taking several hundred of them away to monitor traffic and drunks at a football game would be ridiculous.

Sorry, I already handed out all my gold stars.

Absolutely I did.
Yes I am aware. I was just combating your response, and saying Columbia is definitely still an option. If they can have it there, they will. I think that's why there is a delay in the decision making. They just don't know how things are going to progress.

So you're just arguing to argue while admitting you don't understand the logistics that go into hosting a major sporting event even though they've been spelled out several times today?
This game is going to be moved.

Its also not like they started thinking about other venues today or yesterday.
If Joe offered TS or it was on the table, it would not take a few days to ensure that was possible. If we have the option of having it here you can bet Alleva said yes immediately.

regardless of where the game is, kickoff would still be at 11
I'll repeat what I said a few pages back. If it is in Tiger Stadium it will be at 4:00, not 11:00.

Why? That makes no sense at all.

Well that contradicts what the other guy said, and what's going to take our place in the 11am slot? They aren't going to leave that empty.

It could be the logistics of throwing together a home game on short notice. They may need the extra 5 hours to get the concession stands stocked. It could be for USC travel reasons.

quote:Either Charlotte or in Athens would make sense. South Carolina contacts Carolina Panthers about possibly playing LSU in Charlotte stadium.
I think the decision has been made to play in Charlotte but they are finalizing all the details such as ticket transfers etc etc
