The man left Florida in shambles, but instead of staying around and fixing the problems he created, he says he's resigning for health issues. At OSU, he allows an assistant coach to get away with domestic violence for years. He gets suspended, and was possibly going to be fired. Maybe to avoid being fired with cause, he agreed to resign/retire at the end of the season to salvage his reputation. But again at his press conference he's leaving due to health reasons, but leaves open the door to coaching again. Any school president and AD would be a fool to hire this clown ever again. I don't like Saban, but I do respect him. He runs a tight ship, and everyone knows he's the leader. He's a man with Integrity.

Urban Meyer is a scum bag. I can’t believe some of you want him as your head coach.

I wouldn't sing Saban's praises too loudly when it comes to integrity.

Every year at the combine, it's been uncovered that Bama players failed multiple drug tests, but were never suspended and dismissed (ex. Tim Williams). Also, this is the same Saban that knowingly signed the NT that was dismissed from Georgia for domestic violence. He'll play you if you're good enough, period.

He's been mentioned here as a possible future hire. Is that what Tiger fans really want?

Think what you want but he’s an incredible coach. To say he not a man of integrity is a simple opinion to form but it just means to allowed the media to develop a narrative for you to buy into. The evidence is clear he tried to help a friend out and give him time to get his life straight. It was a gamble that didn’t pan out but not one that was unreasonable at the time. It’s not like the told the guy to keep beating his wife.

All these threads about how bad he is and we should never want him are just O pumpers. You do yourself nor O any good. O is our coach and he’s not going anywhere. Has he improved it from Miles? Maybe maybe not. That’s mostly to be determined. If he doesn’t and 3 years from now we move on and hire UM we’d be complete idiots not to consider it.

This is a rough and tough business. There are a few coaches out there with integrity. Most we would describe as losers. Not going to bad mouth a dude that was successful in this business, just c’mon. The virtue signaling needs to stop here, this is College football...

25 players were charged or arrested for a total 31 crimes during Meyer's six years at Florida, and that doesn't include tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is now a convicted murderer and is being probed for his role in a 2007 shooting in Gainesville during his freshman year.

Only six of those players were kicked off the team, and around half received a one-game suspension or were punished "internally."

Urban Meyer is the 2nd best coach in college football and had Ohio State in the playoffs almost every year. I would take him here in a heartbeat and anyone who wouldn’t is a complete moron, I really don’t care if our coach is a “good ole baw”, Les Miles was a great guy and Ed Orgeron is likable and the media still rips them apart and makes fun of them relentlessly. I’d rather have a winner who’s going to be scrutinized than a loser who’s going to be scrutinized anyway

I actually agree with you. My point was that the OP says that Meyer has no integrity (which I'm not arguing for against), but turned around and praised Saban for his integrity (which again I'm not arguing for or against) when we all know of things like this that were swept under the rug under his watch. That's all I'm saying.

Once again. You’re determining his integrity based on other people’s actions. Maybe you could say he has poor judgement in selecting people but Miles allowed kids like Jeremy Hill to play. It worked out well for both. You guys think this stuff is so easy. Maybe he cares about the kid and his opportunity is the only chance this kid probably has? That would be a sign that he has high integrity. He’s never been caught cheating. His only weakness is he gives people a second chance.

He may coach again-but not in the SEC. He doesn’t want to coach against Saban.

yep, the list that has both winner and integrity boxes checked is very small. And most of them are retired.

Here's the thing about itegrity as it relates to winning:
Rarely does the lack of integrity show up until they fall short of the expectations of wins.

Funny how that happens. Just look at Freeze- he went from being a "good religious man that can beat Bama" to, well, being seen for what he really is.

The thing is, he didn't change. He still beat Bama. And he didn't lose integrity, only the information/truth regarding him as a person came to light. Nothing truly changed, except perception.

Me personally, the search for integrity is pointless in the current climate. Sure, you have to draw the line somewhere. But that bar should be low. This is a business now. Your 5*'s didn't come 'to play school'. Why should the coaches be any different. So draw that line carefully based on real world consequences (covering up rape vs. paying players) and leave optics out of it and insert winning there. Because if you win the conference, the media will cater to you and those optics will change or melt away.

He showed his true character when he was asked a direct question about Zach Smith at Big 10 Media Days and lied through his teeth. When caught he then issues a BS statement trying to explain away his lie. So when he speaks, how are we supposed to know when he is telling the truth? Wouldn't ever want him at LSU in any capacity.

Any program that suspends players for weed is stupid. Saban is just ahead of his time in this aspect.

Wtf does someone’s opinion of Meyer have to do with Orgeron?

Y’all motherfrickers are delusional and obsessed with creating some sort of controversy... it’s frickin strange

From ESPNU radio, factoid on Urban Meyer coaching legacy.

Lots of wins, ONLY 6 coaches ever in 17 years as HC beat him 2X, and of them only 1 beat him 3X.

That 1.... Coach Les Miles.

BTW, Nick Saban is NOT on the short list of coaches to beast him 2X.
