no, i went by previous memory.

why are his bench reps such a big deal to you?
so you linked players who put up more weight.. you don't think it goes the other way around as well?

They aren't buy as I stated in other thread, go back an look through combine results. Very few players fail to get 10 from DB and even fewer fail at 5.
Looking at last 3 years and the combine numbers no CB drafted in first 3 rounds had less than 10 including players with similar stature as TM7.

Is it end all to end all? No is it more important than 40? No is 49 more important? Not really as none of it translates to NFL speed/strength but with as much time as he has had to prepare he should have done better. I think NFl come hit nail on head comparing him to Cortland Finegan as TM7 should be a solid player but not a star and have a solid career.

I have some doubts. Rarely on that track is the revision down from an unofficial time. It may have happened, but I am not really aware of it.

still seems like he concentrated more on his technique which is far more important and impressive. some of these dbs today looked sub par.

There's also a lot of players who chose not to do the bench. And if I had to guess, it's because they would put up pretty terrible numbers.

Mathieu wasn't in the position to sit out any drills. And from Patrick Peterson's twitter it seems most of his training was focussed on speed/agility/hand-eye coordination.

He should be faster at LSU pro day
Way things have gone that first time will raise along with second, by how much we are waiting for it to be seen

If his first time stays under 4.5 on that track, it will be quite an accomplishment.

Most wait and do them at their pro day, that is a given considering where they believe they will be drafted. Do CB's need strength? Yea especially in press coverage when they lock up with WR at line of scrimmage but it isn't that important. Neither is a 40 time without pads but that is a different topic really

Will do a lot to ease doubts about his straight line speed, I think outside of bench he has performed above avg in all the drills

And 4 reps is embarrassing

if he was a SS, yes.....if he was a RB, yes.....if he was a lineman or LB, yes.....at DB/KR, no. No one gives shite about his bench, when he has those ball skills and instincts on the field. He wasn't a flash in the pan. He was outstanding both freshman and sophomore years. He's going to get drafted in the mid-rounds and his bench will be forgotten.

I think most coaches would rather a DB who has fluid hips, good quickness, and great ball skills over bench pressing

He will have run faster than Dre, which could give teams picking late in the first round the support to pull the trigger on him there. Still has size and character questions, but so did Adam Jones.

As posted earlier, you find very few CB's do less than 10 reps (5 over past 2 seasons) and ever fewer do under 5 (0 over past 2 seasons)
So yes embarrassing, 8 should have been his goal with high of 12 as that is what many players of similar height/weight have done over past 2 years in combine
