Updated Spreads for the rest of LSU's season - Reason for Optimism

I know, I know. We were favored over Ole Miss and FSU. Barely, but that said:

Mizzou: -6.5 LSU
Auburn: -14.5 to 16.5 LSU
Bama: -6.5 Bama
Florida: -16 LSU
A&M: -9.5 to -10 LSU

The Ole Miss loss hurts as it requires us to win out, but everything is in front of us. Does our defense improve? Who knows. Our offense is good enough to win each of our remaining games. While that isn't likely, you can see that it is possible based on the spreads. We were 6-2 heading into Bama last year, and they were favored by twice as much.

There is absolutely no way this team covers the majority of those. Especially A&M.

I find it hard to believe LSU will be a 14 pt favorite against Auburn.

UGA was -14 against them & didn’t cover.

Of course that’s a home game for Auburn compared to an away game in Baton Rouge, but no way it should be that high for LSU

What do you mean who knows?

If this was the week after FSU game I would 100% agree but this is week 6 and they have played 5 games.

What makes you think they will improve now as opposed to 4 weeks ago?

I like the optimism, but unless our D can even show up for a series or two we’re in a world of hurt for the rest of the season. Sure we will surprise someone because our Offense is playing its arse off, but this could feel like the season we fired O all over again.

I mean it is theoretically possible for them to improve to be at least average

I do not believe for a second anyone is offering a legitimate A&M +9.5 you can bet on right now

LSU won’t win any of those games. The Tigers May score a lot of points, but they can’t outscore the defense’s ability to give up scores. The Tigers should be able to beat Georgia Southern and Army if they play lights out.
