Im just relaying what i heard doc. I guess it would be up to alleva and university prez. Im assuming he would still need to be in good academic standing. Or mayne they are coming up with some sort of probationary thing he has to do. Like submit to drug tests, continue counseling, do community service, take drug and alcohol classes.

I dont think its just one guy making decisions, thats what you dont want cus you end up like penn state.

Yes but if they are going to do it, they are going to consider every media attack that could be thrown at them for allowing him back on the team. They will want to be seen as the support system that is given one of it's fallen sons a chance for redemption. Not as the powerhouse doing whatever it takes to keep talented players. FTR I would see LSU better if they give him the chance. That is strictly with the belief that this was his 3rd failed test though. If it was more, it should not even be under consideration.

Due to the extraordinary way Tyrann has handled the events of the last several weeks and his willing ability to never quit I have decided to reduce Tyranns punishment from dismissal to indefinitely suspended. I will allow him to work out with the team but until he has earned our trust back he won't be allowed on the field.

Please, Les.

true, and if he is going to eff up it will be before re-instatement begins. Seems like a win-win for LSU

All Les has to say is that Tm7 was initially given the 1yr suspension option or dismissal. He originally chose dismissal but has since had a change of heart. LSU is allowing him to take original penalty of 1 yr suspension.

He must be on the team to red shirt and a one year suspension would prevent him from being on the team, hence red shirt not an option.

Not picking on you Doc, but this is just stupid. He may lose a year of eligibility because of the suspension, but not because he isn't on the team. You have 5 years to play 4 once you attend classes full time. A player could leave after one year of playing during his freshman year, just because. If he returned in a year, he would have used that year as his redshirt and would have 3 yrs of eligibility remaining.

Yeah but they need to prepare themselves for the question. They will want to be able to answer every question about their ethics in an absolute manner. I said this with this belief in mind type of stuff. Not saying there is anything shady going on, just a basic PR move.

Question - if LSU revokes his scholarship, and grants his release from the program (which they would ave to do for him to pay his own way), then he stays at LSU and rejoins the team in 2013, does his scholarship then count agaist a future signing class of 25 somewhere or is he just back on and counting against the 85?

I don't know how it all ended up with Bolden, but it would seem like the same thing, except TM would sign for the team that initially granted his release.

He got caught and was given a second chance and he blew it. Say goodbye and move on. The team will be fine. He deserves what he gets after violating the rule a second time. He thinks more of his drugs than of his team mates so good riddance. Probably couldn't pass the test at MCNeese or he be their.

I see what you are saying, but mett was charged with sexual battery. How ethical is that? Miles doesnt already answer anything. I dont see why they would start now. He really only needs to answer what the ncaa asks.

People all over the goddamn internet are quoting Guilbeau saying TM failed more than three drug tests. Following is an article from Guilbeau:

LINK

quote:

Tyrann Mathieu, one of the greatest football players in the gaudy history of LSU, just got kicked off the team by this indebted school after he tested positive for marijuana in three or four or more drug tests over the last year. Miles made the announcement Friday, but it was obviously not his decision totally

I really wish people would stop quoting shite that isn't factual.

He would count against the 85, not 25, but it means that there would have to be enough attrition to sign 25. BTW, if you read the policy, whether he keeps the ship or not is at the discretion of Aleva, Miles, etc. If you look at my post history today, you should see where I posted it.
