This. I don't hate O, it's just annoying that a guy with an awful HC resume and flopped in the two games against legit competition is getting this much play.

Plus we learned from last year, the idiot emotional fans can get their way, and it hurts the program. It sucks, but we have to drown out the squeaky wheel emotional idiots.

I'd like to see us keep Coach O if Fisher and Herman are not coming.

Keep O's pay low until (if) he proves himself and take that saved money and get a S-Tier Offensive coordinator.

That's my main issue, how can Coach O guarantee a great OC hire.

O's only chance at a P5 head coaching job is right here, right now.

O's true path to a HC job should be something like Memphis or Houston or Baylor... win there, then get the big boys coming.

But he can shirt-circuit that path right now.

That being said, if O were honest with himself, he's doing himself a disservice by taking the route he is taking.

O would no doubt get a free season in 2017.

He finishes 6-6 and it's, "We knew this would be a rebuilding year! Wait till next year!"

Coach O has no choice but to take the "I'll take less money" approach. No Brainer there...

I don't hate him either. He can't help his inferiority as a HC. It is not cut out for everyone and it is a tough job. I despise the political lackeys and media A holes who pimp him.

They should be against him as HC but for him for being a DL coach.

What argument does O have over Mike Gundy? It's not resume, it's not experience, it's not offensive prowess, it's not sustained success at a meh program.

So what is your argument?

Of course he did. Orgeron is built for this stuff, and Alleva/King are weak, feckless pussies.

No doubt. Great salesman who is not a good HC and never will be without a lot of support from coordinators. I wonder how smart O will look in three years?

I really think failing on the recruiting trail with a Fedora or Gundy for 3-5 years would be worse. They'll win with the talent we have for a couple of seasons but what happens as our lines continue to get worse. Just as you can't win on talent alone you can't out scheme everyone. I want Herman period, but I really think "gulp" swallowing hard, that we would be better off with O than the names being thrown out there as next choice.
