What's the point then?

Entertainment, I guess. Like me watching tOSU vs. Penn St. I usually don’t care who wins, but I like to watch a good game.

Unlimited Transfers and NIL are Ruining CFB

No doubt! CFB turned this loose with little to no forethought about impacts. We have a model now worse than the NFL with unlimited transfers and unregulated (no cap, etc) NIL $$ & exploiting handlers. They took something, that was not perfect, but was incredibly enjoyful and profitable over the last 20-25 years and have changed it forever. This new model cannot sustain itself without some significant changes and oversight.

Pandoras box has been open and there is no closing it! It sucks to be so invested in the school/team/players you love and then mid season or after 1 season he's gone. Not enough playing time, gets his feelings hurt bc the coach yelled at him, girlfriend wants him here, mom and dad got offered this or that and bam he's gone! They need some regulations on this shite and the athletes need to honor their contracts. Pay the money back, can't transfer on a whim. We need consequences for tampering and rules on where you can and can't transfer and you have to sit out a year of its after your 1st transfer

don't disagree, but how would you fix it? Gonna bitch about a problem, offer a solution.

I think you should get 1 unlimited transfer, anywhere, anytime, any reason.

2nd transfer, you have to sit out a year (back to old rules), unless your coach leaves.

The sit out a year would slow these things down, because they are all transferring in hopes of immediate playing time and faster shot at the NFL.

1. NIL/Pay Cap per team needs to be implemented.
2. Transfers need to be limited

There is a reason the NFL has contracts & salary caps. Fans will eventually lose interest in College football if things do not change.

It ain’t gonna be stopped. Just find something else to do with your time. Watch the games casually as I did this season. No emotional attachment

This is the way. Hard to give a shite anymore with so little continuity. Teams are just brands, like the NFL, but with even fewer star players carrying over year to year. I'm still working on the emotional attachment part, as nothing pisses me off as much as LSU football. Something to aspire to next season.

Honestly, this is how I feel about LSU basketball (unattached). So it is possible.

No. Have ruined college football. Get a group of money hungry thugs for 1 year. No developing or teaching system then they leave for more money. Not worth following anymore.

I can't believe it but I find myself semi-rooting for Clemson to make some noise for the schools who don't fold into bidding wars and develop their players with a couple of dedicated stars here and there.

This wealth transfer experiment has gone awry; stop it now before it destroys the game that we love.

I wonder if you'd feel the same if you had a kid or relative talented enough risking their health for institutions and corporations to rake in more than a billion annually.

offer the kid a multi year contract instead of a 1 year renewable. seems like the easiest way to lock in a player for more than one year. schools have the ability to do this but don’t bc they also want the flexibility to push them out.

The transfers are the problem, make them sit out 1 year and it’s fixed.

Do coaches that change schools have to sit a year also?

How do you legally accomplish this. NIL money is like professional endorsement deals. that is not part of the NFL cap and courts have said this is legal. Transfer is legal bc of court ruling.

Supporting LSU remains essential; your donations and annual season ticket renewals make a difference. Embrace the changes or consider a new pastime like pickleball.

It's already rurnt for me. I have very little interest in the sport anymore. I'm 43 years old and a lifelong diehard LSU fan. CFB was the ultimate sports entertainment for me for decades. Now its just meh.
