Nothing like throwing away our unique brand to wear the uniforms most associated with rent a win meaningless games.

Do you actually think people will turn on the game and not know who is playing?

Not for Power 5 opponents.

It’s only for scrubs.

Do not like. We aren’t Oregon.

LSU was wearing people for one of the iconic program games. Purple has been relegated to scrubs because of the stupid rule that it's only to be worn for non conference home games. Well our non-conference home games are always against Southwest Garbage State.

dark color jerseys in the day will actually affect the teams performance

It absolutely does affect. Have you seen what happens to the Saints when the Bucs or the Dolphins make them wear all black in FL? And that's just with 80 degree weather versus the 94 it'll be tomorrow

Doesn’t LSU always wear purple for the second non conference home game?

The rule was that LSU wore purple for the non-power 5s unless it was the 1st home game. Guess we’re not considering the Big 10 a power 5?

… I’ll allow it!

Home non-conference opponents scheduled in the last 20 or so years:

UCLA
Virginia Tech
Washington
Oregon State
West Virginia
Syracuse
Army
Houston
Texas (cancelled by COVID, 2020)
Arizona State (moved to ASU because of Katrina, 2005)

Prior to that, home non-conference games like:

USC
Ohio State
Florida State
Miami
Notre Dame
Arizona
North Carolina
Texas A &M (pre-SEC admittance)

The gold/purple/gold combination was ugly in the 80's, and nothing has changed that. It would fit in the SWAC, though.

I remember a couple years ago, playing an afternoon game against Auburn. Very hot, humid, little cloud cover.
By the 4th quarter, the sun had set enough to put our bench in the shade, but Auburn had their faces to the sun with their dark navy blue jerseys. I think it was a factor in our 4 th quarter comeback.

Fun fact: Steve Spurrier-led Florida put LSU in purples in The Swamp for an afternoon game on October 2, 1965. The gametime air temperature was 100° in the shade, and the Tigers showed signs of heat exhaustion in the second half, while the Gator team found new energy.

Before jumping to the conclusion that it was jersey color that was the defining variable in the teams' differing condition, Florida had a secret weapon on their sideline-- the newly invented beverage, by UF chemists, called GATORADE, which was unavailable to the LSU team.

Florida prevailed over a listless, wilted LSU team, 14-7.

It was long before Les that folks believed purple jerseys were bad luck. This goes back to the days of Coach McClendon.

Yep, I don’t think this team is capable of dominating anybody with a pulse.

I fully expect UCLA to be a nail biter due to a continuation of sorry arse soft defense and also the continuation of elementary school level play calling on offense.

And when Ole Miss comes to town and drums their arses by 30 points it’s really going to humble most Tiger fans.

I really hate to sounds like this but it’s what I’m afraid is going to happen because this team just does not look very good still.
