I see a lot of posters saying we don't have a chance and they see us with 4 to 5 loses. I see this team getting better every game. Yes I think we just had some bad breaks against miss st. Being that L7 fumbled twice and the insides kick. If those things don't happen we probably win by 30 and look dominate again. I feel positive that if we minimize turnovers and drive stalling penalties this team could very well be a contender for the west. Hell, just the fact that we have just a average passing stack we could could be very hard to stop. The d is getting better and special teams isn't the shite show it was last year. Only time will tell but I really feel this team is being judged on first game but a lot has changed since then in a short amount of time. Geaux Tigers!

It's not the players that people have lost faith in, its the head coach.

but they did. They always say the biggest improvement is from 1st game to 2nd game. I think outside 3 quarters we have played 9 bad quarters of football. That doesn't bode well for when our schedule gets tougher

Only real weakness I see on this team is the O-line. QB could be better also, but he looks to be good enough for us. WRs have under performed, but they are good and will become dominant throughout the season.

Even our O-line is really just weak at the tackles, and the 2 guards need to be better pass blockers.

Jesus, so wins over Jack Stare and Miss State have you excited? The bar is very low at LSU these days. Thanks Uncle Les.

Not quite the same. Not saying that etling is all world and the savior but we had no short passing game last year at all. Not hard to just defend the run and long ball every play. Short passing to tight ends and check downs can change a whole lot. 3rd down completions and not stalking drives

Not getting too excited over a couple of games but if you honestly think that having a short passing game and not being so predictable doesn't give the d more to think about is just silly.

Or the year before that, or the year before that

This fanbase, as a whole, is just done with Miles. Truthfully, I think Les is done with this fan base too. His demeanor in is press conferences and radio show is just different. The crazy thing is if the supposed best player in college football doesn't fumble twice last Saturday we likely win that game 37ish-10 or something that looks much better than 23-20 with a 4th quarter collapse.

Last year was last year. That shite is behind us. This is a different team with a new QB. It's time to cut this last year BS out and get behind this team

The bad breaks work both ways though. Miss State missed two tds by overthrowing wide open recievers.

Yes the team is not the same through the year. We "dominated" early games last year and struggled late (with injuries taking a major toll).

This year may be different. I hope it is. It might not and if it's not difficult choices will have to be made but for now I'm going to stand up and cheer for my beloved tigers hoping every week for a W.

Some of ya'all can go on hoping for a L every week just so you can justify your Miles hatred. Of course if we win out your tune will change.

It's week-to-week at this point. We look better each week, and we've got a couple stepping stones before we get to the meat of the schedule. Predictions are pointless for us at this point. We are a different team every Saturday so far. Let's just take each week as it comes and enjoy it while it's here.

Some rantards have too many knee jerk reactions to things they see in the stadium or on TV, I'm guilty of it myself. But if you really look at the past 2 games in particular, there are some things that give us a little glimmer of hope for this team. I think this QB has the POTENTIAL to be something special (I say that in caps cause some of you assholes will say i've anointed the kid as the next coming of Christ or some shite) and the D will be dominant by the time we hit mid-season. All that really needs to happen is for Les to step back and let the team play. I actually thought he did a really good job of this against MSU. Take away the penalty on Pocic when he was forced to play a position he's not accustom to and LF7s two fumbles and we blow the doors off of that game.

I agree, but those things did happen. More importantly, those things (or others like them) tend to happen consistently with our teams.

Look at the Wisconsin game. With a minute to play we had the ball on their 30 down by 2, in pretty good shape to win the game with a late FG. But, then we get a false start, a missed pass blocking assignment and a terrible decision from the QB and we don't even get the chance.

Or look at last year. Through the first half of the season, how many TDs and other big plays did we have nullified by penalties? Often easily avoidable or completely unnecessary ones.

We also seem constantly to have players making bad decisions or blowing assignments. Last week, we gave up an onside kick recovery because of missed assignments. Last year, we gave Florida two TDs with bad decisions on special teams. How many blown coverages, bad angles of pursuit, etc. lead to completely avoidable and unnecessary scores for opponents? These are the things that turn a game like last week that should have been a 30-6 blowout into a 23-20 squeaker. Last year's Florida game should have been a dominant win. It should have been about 28-0 at halftime and the game should never have been in doubt, but instead we're faking a FG in the 4th quarter to barely win. In other cases, these errors turn games we should win into games we lose.

We always have good talent. If we could get out of our own way, we could be really good almost every year, but consistently, year after year, we have these silly breakdowns that keep us from doing as well as we should. I know every team makes mistakes, but how often and how bad vary from team to team, often correlated with who is coaching them.

Mental discipline and attention to detail can solve a lot of these kinds of problems. We just never seem to have it.
