Is Joe running for governor and needs to lock up the N. La. vote???? I mean does this dude know how to negotiate. Its not like ULM would turn down 900k to play in Baton Rouge right?

Then, LSU already has McNeese on the schedule that year. Joe really knows how to shite on season ticket holders. Cold nacho cheese and warm bottled water and a shitty home schedule.

Thanks Joe!!!

This is a really interesting article about non conference games / neutral site games and their payouts.

Its more expensive than you think.

And an away trip to UCLA that could turn out to be pretty rough with Chip Kelly as their coach now.

But, regarding the bit about Joe shitting on season ticket holders...your best possible response is to stop buying season tickets! I went to all six home games this year for FIFTY DOLLARS total, and you can too!

If it weren't for rent-a-wins there wouldn't be major upsets.

LOL they need us more than we need them.

I get the purpose of rent a wins but with McNeese already scheduled then adding another in state school its just not interesting as a fan, season ticket holder or not. Now we are overpaying for in-state rent a wins... just kinda of shitty in all aspects.

Thanks for the link. Apparently we are overpaying for a ULM rent a win.

Farmer negotiated while serving as Louisiana-Lafayette’s athletics director from 2011 through 2016. In 2016, he scheduled a game at Mississippi for November that will give Louisiana-Lafayette $1.525 million. Two years earlier, he had arranged for the Ragin Cajuns to play at Texas A&M in mid-September for $1.25 million. Those two games will account for for 11% of Louisiana-Lafayette’s operating revenue in 2017-18, athletics department spokesman Matt Sullivan said.

If my numbers are right that makes Louisiana Lafayette's athletic revenue somewhere around 25.2 Million. LSUs is 101.44 (based on LINK)

4 times larger than ULL's doesn't seem like as big a difference as I might guess.

Wasn't Troy supposed to be a rent-a-win?

TV comes first
Big payday comes second
Season ticket package is last

The bottom line is, we are in it for the money.

I'm happy about it too. I am however worried about playing Louisiana Tech next season. That team is far from being a rent-a-win.

Would you rather us to a home/away series with Monroe?

Sure they would. They're getting $1.35 mill to play at FSU this weekend.

I hate rent-a-wins as much as the next guy. But if LSU HAS to have them, I'd prefer to see the money go to in-state programs vs. out of state programs.

If ULM gets 1.35 million from FSU or 1.35 million from LSU; they get the same amount of money.

LSU should make it a rule to play only one in state team a season.

Playing two a year is monotonous.
