Why is it so hard for some of you to understand ULL has no chance if Robichaux pitches the 1st game. The only slightest chance is if the # 2 wins Friday and Robichaux pitches against LSU.Even then It's not like he is a super dominant guy he just pitches better than average

If you slow down and think about it, you may realize that your conclusion isn't supported by logic. You could make a pretty good case that ULL's best shot to win this regional is to get to Sunday...and that this strategy lowers that probability. Remember, like you said, your "stud" pitcher is going to be pitching against a guy that was SEC pitcher of the year, who went undefeated in the SEC, and has an ERA of under 2.

In other words, you might be increasing your odds on Saturday very minimally while significantly decreasing your odds on Friday.

That's where my heckling got it's start thanks to that bird-man for USM Baseball. Moved from our seats down 1B to 3B because of that idiot. UNO relief pitcher started talking shite during the USM game after I mocked him for throwing a wild pitch in the bullpen. He got so mad, his mom came down and got in my face and said "One day you will have kids and be more of an adult..."

Wasn't this also the regional where a UNO parent got escorted out of the stands for misbehaving?

Wilson is going to pitch a gem, and our bats are going to eat Dickson up. I don't see why you guys don't root for the in-state team, that's what I'm always told.

I'm staying for game 2 Friday night just to cheer against ULL

You could be right. but Robicheaux knows the risk.

2000 super regional against no. 1 seed USC, he sat all-American Scott Dohman down 0-1 in series and started true freshman in second game. Saved Dohman for game 3 and everyone here knows what happened.

By this logic, why isn't Robicheaux pitching Sunday then?

I'm sure Robichaux would get pushed to Sunday if they lose Friday.

And risk going 0-2 and ousted from post season play without even having thrown your ace? Crazy. Do whatever gives you the best chance to win it all in the first game but once in the losers bracket I think you have to use your best available arm each game when it could be your last.

Not a risk. You're always trying to set yourself up to win it all, and blowing Robi on Jackson St. would be a mistake.

Bc he is really our only "threat." That 2000 team had more depth than this one.

My main point was Robicheaux knows the risk not throwing his ace game 1. Posters on this site aren't coming up with earth-shattering news.

Wilson, Robichaux and Boutte?

Sounds like a law firm in Lafayette.
