Why should you expect people to give their money to an organization that is very open about supporting various morals and causes they don’t personally agree with?

Because you’re an adult and presumably able to look at the big picture better than 18-22 year olds.

Exactly. And as an adult I know the big picture shows the things these 18-22 year olds think they care about because the media and race hustlers tell them to are actually not reflective of reality. Why would I support that?

Let’s turn it around and say LSU would’ve taken the very easy step of not openly supporting these clearly controversial things. Cant you at least take a step back and see the necessity of that for financial purposes?

Wait - you think people who get really upset about that have enough money to materially impact LSU?

Hundred millionaires who actually move the needle aren't dumb enough to care about stadium lights or Woodward telling Orgeron to shut up and dribble.

You guys have no fricking clue how little the dumb people on Tiger Droppings mean financially to LSU in the big scheme.

Even if you perceive LSU to have become too “woke”, cant you at least take a step back and see the necessity of that for recruiting purposes?

I have two degrees from LSU. I love the place. That's why it kills me to see what they have become; supporting a Marxist organization like BLM, lighting up Tiger Stadium in the school colors of a career criminal, taking the name of great Americans off of buildings.

Sure, you can argue the need for this kind of ham-fisted wokism for recruiting purposes, but LSU is more than just a football team; at least for some of us.

This is why I have stopped donating to the TAF and the Foundation. I can no longer support an institution that differs so much from my own values.

The ironic thing is you’re now making it more about politics than it otherwise would be. The kids literally just want to feel like they’re just as much a part of the LSU community as anyone else & aren’t just an avatar for winning games.

Appears that a large percentage of people who post here see Commies behind every tree.
Luckily, the big hitters financially are not nearly as likely to be captive to the current conspiracy du jour mentality.

The discussion was about people choosing whether or not to financially support organizations that openly support causes they disagree with. No one ever brought up any specific dollar amounts.

You sure do seem to be trying really hard to convince people that those hundred millionaires don’t care about this stuff though. Even though most of them are probably “good old southern boys” that don’t support those causes like you claim Woodward is.

As a resident of Athens GA if he lives in Athens he is "woke". Love the city but the politics are unbearable.
Hence I live next door in Oconee. Home of the Max and our new recruit Jake....Maybe he is trying to escape Athens Politics...
How do you know he doesn't live in Oconee, too?

Wrong. The organization that introduced politics into an arena it didn’t exist previously made it about politics. But now you’re upset that people who don’t support the organizations politics don’t want to financially support the organization.

Strange how they managed to feel that way for all those years prior to 2020 when Troy Middleton’s name was still on the library and Tiger stadium wasn’t lit up in honor of someone with absolutely no affiliation with LSU in any way.

Il not sure that they did, especially once simultaneously the value of a college degree dropped just as college football started bringing in gobs more money they weren’t seeing any of.

right...let's alienate all our young african american athletes that feel differently.

I'm ready for academic waivers to disappear. That would eliminate much of the problem.

Really? Surely you must have evidence of athletes talking about how much they didn’t feel included at LSU and felt oppressed by the name of the library, right? And there wouldn’t be any evidence of them talking about how much they love lsu, right?

Oh, so before 2020 they were going to LSU for the value of the education and not to play football?

And they don’t currently receive any benefits of the increased revenues lsu has experienced in football? Not world class facilities, not cost of living stipends, not private chartered flights and staying in expensive hotels, not getting 11 free meals a week in the nutrition center, etc?

Sell out your country and promote the false narratives of police brutality, white supremacy, boys can be girls and to hate all white people so we can recruit better? I’ll pass.
