Per Lsusports.net...

Guard Walter Hodge

On playing on the road...
“I don’t think there is anything wrong. We just have to come and play the game the right way. We just have to keep fighting and keep playing hard.”

On the hostile crowd...
“I don’t think the environment was that great. We are used to playing at Kentucky, and it’s louder. Every game we’ve lost on the road was close, and we just have to execute at the end.”

I mean, it was loud but it wasn't insane.

Well to only be compared to Kentucky is pretty good company imo.

Also helps when the PMAC holds 13,742 and Rupp holds 23,500. But saying that our stadium isn't intimidating shouldn't be news to any LSU fan.

Agreed. He's just trying to not make excuses, which I can respect.

Honestly I think a team is what intimidates another team more...not so much the fans. The fans help, but has less to do with it than the team itself. But it was loud as hell in there tonight.. pretty much the whole time

Exactly.

Would it be considered an insult if Florida lost at Kentucky in football and then Tebow says that their stadium wasn't as loud as Tiger Stadium?

did you expect him to say "Wow! The crowd really had an impact on us losing the game. The PMAC was rockin."
His resposne was a typical.

The small student section was great. The rest of the PMAC wasn't for most of the game. Why wouldn't people stand up and make noise until the very end of the game? We were in the upper section on the old folks side across from the students. I've seen the PMAC way more intimidating than it was tonight.

If the crowd had no effect on us winning according to him, that just makes us look better.

EST b.c it is rude to stand up in front of people dumbass. If you think the crowd was not loud then tomorrow morning go to the ENT and get your hearing checked b.c you need it.

I've been attending games in the PMAC for 20 years. Trust me, the PMAC was much louder back in the late 80's and early 90's AND during big LSU runs, most people stood up and yelled more often than they do now. But hey, don't stand up then - just sit and yell - I don't care - just make more noise. But, tonight, the PMAC was overall just not very intimidating.

From a perspective of watching it on television out of state, the crowd was very disappointing. Make whatever excuses you want, but LSU's basketball fans don't even remotely approach--in intensity and originality (see: "It sucks to be a Florida Gator")--the fans I see when I watch other games. Not even the "Maravich Maniacs."

I'm not trying to be negative here. Just surprised that so many people have misconceptions about how "great" the crowd sounded. I think a kid from Florida who plays in other gyms has a little better perspective, too. If it was crazy loud or intimidating, he could easily say that. Plenty of opposing players comment on how great baseball fans are or how intimidating Tiger Stadium is. The same things just can't be said of the PMAC at the moment. Maybe when the bandwagon gets a little more loaded...

It was a different story in the 80's and 90's. Hopefully if Trent can land some major talent, those days will return. It surely seems he can coach!

Get those fat cats away from courtside and move the student section down there - that will help the atmosphere.

Those fat cats there just to see and be seen can sit at courtside on the other side - away from the benches.
