and that's on coaching. UCLA was better prepared, there was a world of difference in the sidelines." I think that sums it up even if it's off Finebaum's show. It's true

UCLA has the better coach.

I can't believe we continue to make zero adjustments on either side of the ball. Just insane.

Did lsu look more athletic than UCLA?

Why did LSU’s “athletic” defense let a white dude get open every play?

Why did LSU’s “athletic” lines get manhandled?

Why did LSU’s “athletic” running backs look like middle school benchwarmers compared to UCLA’s 2 main backs?

I didn’t see any athleticism on LSU

Our athleticism is severely overrated. We absolutely have more studs than UCLA (Boutte, Stingley, Ricks), but people need to stop looking at solely
recruiting rankings to judge how much talent is on a team. Our LBs and safeties in particular are not very talented or athletic. Oline not talented. UCLA’s running back is more talented than any RB we have.

"Athletes" playing out of position and getting outcoached will look like peewee players all day

The recruiting rankings haven't lied at all since the college football playoff the teams making the playoff anf winning a championship have consistent top 5 recruiting classes thay is a fact.

We have done a terrible job developing talent along the Oline and linebacker.

UCLA looked bigger, stronger, faster and much better prepared than LSU - at least to these eyes.

We tend to pooh pooh the teams from the West Coast because they beat each other up so much, but if you look at it historically, West Coast teams don't do so badly playing teams from back east....particularly UCLA.

There is a lot of talent out there, not just on the skill side. We just don't pay attention.

Maybe the white dude was smarter

I’ve seen you mention this a few times. as if the white dude shouldn’t be able to get past a black dude because he’s white. So my response is based off your logic

Chew on that for a minute.

The entire O-line struggled bad against UCLA. It’s going to be real hard to watch during SEC play.

Of course they did! But...... not, because they were more athletics than LSU. It’s because they were “developed” and “coached” better.

Development starts first with Culture. So many of you simply don’t realize how important culture is to any program.

Teaching fundamentals and “demanding” execution of those fundamentals day in, and day out, every single drill, every single practice.

Every player knowing exactly what their assignment is on every single play based on how they were prepared all week based on film study will make any player play faster.

How each player was demanded to execute their own personal regiment designed specifically for them in the weight room all winter, spring, & summer will make them stronger.

This is called Coaching. Or in LSU’s case, lack of coaching.

Damn...this kinda reminds me of another team in our division that consistently wins...because they pay attention to details, mental energy, small adjustments. Who is that? Hmmmm I can't think of the coach's name just now. I think he coached LSU at one time......

I am not making this a racial reply, but there are a couple of teams here in Arkansas in the larger classifications that win state championships damn near every year. And they are 90% white, beating more athletic teams full of black kids. They also go into other states and do the same. These teams are full of 5'10" 185# white boys that run 4.8 forty's but make the more athletic kids look slow...because they are coached well and have huge football IQ's. They use your speed and undisciplined play against you. And beat you. It's COACHING

If you can’t block or tackle, football is a pretty tough sport.

UCLA had some pretty good athletes as well. They didn't have big Dlinemen like LSU but they made it up with length, quickness, and bringing extra rushers. Their QB, TE, and RB's are more athletic than ours.

Also our WR's are game makers but if we have trouble getting them the ball then it balances out.
