They were AN issue, they were not the only issue. There were lots of them.

I mean, you lost your day 2 starter in early SEC play, Stanfield battled an injury all year that impacted his play, and you lost your best hitter in Brown. Even Evans and Schmidt had their own injuries. That's going to massively hurt any baseball team especially starting pitchers.
They're there to eat 6 innings up for a reason. Might not be the only reason but it's definitely a big reason why this team was bad this year. There was point in this season where if you looked at LSU's injury report it looked like a football team reporting it mid season.

I saw a plethora of reasons.
Overall talent being one of them.

Injuries are part of it too because it piles up on a team that was already struggling. You then ask young pitchers to come in and play harder so everything just keeps piling up. There's a reason why they say bad play is like cancer spreading. How can you ask the team to get consistency when they go down like a football injury report? LSU had a ton of injuries by midseason even if they were not season ending ones.
Guys like Moore eat the strike zone up which is something LSU needed massively for stability on this staff. Losing a guy who could eat you innings up consistently in a game hurts and then you lose arguably your best hitter in Jake Brown? Yeah, it hurts.
Upside is LSU got a lot of young guys PT and it paid off by the end of the year. Going to help next year for sure with guys like Braun.

Did I see that DC played with a “broken ankle?”

He broke before the season started which is why he started off slow. It was very evident Stanfield was badly impacted by his injury this year too. You could easily see it in his swing. This team had the absolute worst luck this year.

Team still would have struggled to make a regional.
Facts.
Facts.

You have absolutely no way of knowing that. It's speculation at best. Who knows how much they could've turned it around? Do you know how many games LSU lost this year because of 1 pitch? They should've won their first 2 SEC series. LSU was pretty astounding at finding ways to lose games they had sealed up. They should've swept Miss State.

Stanfield broke his hand before SEC and yall wonder why his timing was off when he came back. He played a couple weeks ago da I believe when he pulled his hamstring. Stanfield led LSU in hitting in the SEC last season. Not Jones; not Hernandez; not Curiel, Not Frey, Not Dickinson, Not Milam…
Anderson and Eyanson combined for 400+ innings pitched. Moore had THIRTY TWO.
Look at Evans IP or what was expected before his issues.
I mean, while it wasn’t the only issue, it is hard overcoming Brown, Stanfield, Moore and injuries to Evans and Schmidt.
That all 3 weekend starters.

You have no way of knowing either.

So, the 1 and 4 seeds will lose their Regionals. I am telling you guys, Mississippi will be in the winner's bracket in Omaha after they host Supers next week.
