Honestly, sounds like it's the best for both of us for him to move on. If he was just expecting to start or get that #3 spot this year because he was a 5-star and wanted to see a lot more passes thrown his way then he should probably go to a Texas Tech.
I don't disagree with this one bit. And I'd rather it happen now than him fester in the locker room and be a potential bad influence.

Which 4-5 stars seem to be leaving?
By choice I should add.

I'm all for throwing the ball, but if they don't need to, I'm not throwing anywhere if Fournette is running down their throats.
You're not winning the SEC without a passing game!

THANKS FOR GETTING US DONTE JACKSON TYRON HAVE A GOOD ONE!

I thought I read on Dandy Don the other day that he was practicing with the freshman as a wake up call. If that was true then that obviously a kick in the nuts to wake up and perform like you are supposed to. There must have been some ongoing issues.

The WRs? I thought that was established... Those that left were either upset with their lack of "getting the ball" or because of their place on the depth chart, one would think.
And I guess it is a good thing we recruit those 4 and 5* WRs, because even with the 3 big names that left, we still have a plethora of other 4 and 5* recruits.

Surprised somewhat, but I wish him the best. Agree, there is a reason he is leaving that perhaps we don't know about. What we do know is that LSU had 3 returning receivers with more than zero career catches this year and now only two. Still many more positions to worry about than WR.

His dad said he wants to go to a wide open offense. Something he should have thought about before coming here

What part of "if they don't need to throw the ball" didn't you grasp?

It makes me wonder though, is this a result of another year of bland offense? If we opened the offense up like we hoped for, one would think he would be satisfied with the way things were going......then again it may in reality be his work ethic. He could have simply been beat out of a job by people who are hungrier for the spot. Either way, best of luck to him wherever he goes.

How can it be another year of another bland offense when we haven't seen what they've done yet?
Posted on 8/11/16 at 4:19 pm to Prominentwon
I, for one, am flabbergasted that they have not attempted one pass in a game yet this season. THE WHOLE SEASON!!!!!1!!
Posted on 8/11/16 at 4:20 pm to Prominentwon
Well one would assume that a player who is on offense would know firsthand what plays are being ran.....

we are going to be really young at WR in 2017
Chark senior
Ferguson redshirt sophomore
Dillon redshirt sophomore
Davis sophomore
Anderson (sophomore or redshirt freshman)
Sullivan (sophomore or redshirt freshman)
You'll have 3 guys that will have been in the program for 3 or more years plus the beasts we got in the 2016 class.
I already thought this year that Chark and Ferguson would be the #3 and #4 WRs and get a good amount of play time, so this doesn't impact my thoughts on the WR position next year. I think Drake Davis is going to lead the group in 2017 anyway.

Think you're reading into it a bit too much. He still would have been behind Dural, Dupre and Chark, and the freshmen have been coming on strong.
Of course it's unlikely we're out there running 5-wide sets but that's about the only thing that would have allowed him to see the field consistently this season based on where he has fallen in the pecking order. We were never going to change things to such a drastic degree.

You left off the #1 247 JUCO transfer commit in Stephen Guidry. Composites have him #2 since he committed.. but he will also be another guy.

So, on to more important matters. Who gets the no. 3 jersey?
Posted on 8/11/16 at 4:40 pm to Datbayoubengal
How do you ask for and get OBJ's jersey number and then turn around and quit? Little irritated at the fact that his dad already gave a quote to bleacher report stating it had to do with the offense. That should say it all right there

Comments on NOLA.com say Craig was pushing for more from Tyron, but Tyron didn't agree with that.
TIFWIW
ETA: WR are so fragile, that a position coach change really shakes up that group.

Maybe the pactices/playbook have been exactly like last year so far?
