I'm 23 years old, and I've never seen a guy impact games as much as this guy has.

He is just always around the ball. I compare him to Ed reed for his knack for big plays/return ability.

He is truly a one in a decade type of player. No defensive back since Charles Woodson has had his impact on a game. Not even PP7.

Also we need a honey badger emoticon.

He has had way more of an impact than Woodson did. Go back and look at Woodson's numbers. Hell, he only had one punt return for a TD in his career.

In Woodsons Heisman year, he was pretty amazing. Many INT's for TDs.

TM7 is one hell of a play-maker, maybe the best...BUT!!! When Put Dorsey was healthy...he was unstoppable.

don't know what stats you're looking at, but according to these stats, he had ZERO INTs for TDs in his entire career. 8 INTs with only 7 return yards his heisman season. He did have 4 TDs his heisman season, but 1 was rushing and 2 were receiving. How many TDs does the HB have this season?

Check out posts on the rant right before and after Tyrann returned from his suspension...Rantards made references like Brooks was better...we have such a fickle fanbase..I wish we could all just sit back and enjoy would looks like the best Tiger football since 1958!! As well as a very special player in #7 who is just short of Billy Cannon as it relates to the impact he has on his team...

I guess i was thinking about his 1 rushing td, 3 recieving TD's and 1 PR TD in 97 on top of his 8 ints.

Still impressive.

agreed. Lav in 03 or Faulk are the only ones who come close since I've watched.

I'm pretty sure I saw someone post that last week in several posts.

wish CBS would have compared HB numbers to charles woodson's numbers during the broadcast yesterday. Bill Martin has been working hard to get the info out.

You must be a newborn, since there was a better player on the field last season.

Patrick Peterson was top to bottom a better player and it's shown in the NFL. Peterson also has the hardware to prove it. Mathieu is awesome and has shown some great stats. The reason Peterson didn't put up such gaudy numbers is because no one dared try to pass against him. When your opponent avoids you at all costs, that is greatness..

Peterson has never had a season like TM7, and was not as impactful as TM7. He was a great physical corner and was pretty good in the return game, but he basically disappeared after the WVU game last year.

I hate when 'the greatest' is thrown around, but given what he does and the impact it has, I think it'd be hard to argue against him.

He is amazing to watch. It doesn't matter what era you remember most, He makes plays out of nothing. I watch in disbelief sometimes at his ability to strip a ball and come up with it. I also thought his punt returns in the SECCG were ridiculous.

And yet Peterson was among the highest NFL draft picks in LSU history and left as the most decorated defensive player in program history. He is also now an NFL record holder. You're right, Mathieu is better...
