He was a big recruit. But he isn’t in SEC shape. So let’s stop having a thread like this every Monday when he doesn’t play in the game. Pray for 2019

I doubt Shelvin will ever play a down at LSU.

He's a stump in the middle, but that does you no good when you're too big to shed blocks or move in space to make a tackle. Mix that with the shite attitude he's had about everything this far, and you have your answer.

According to culotta, he misses classes, is late for meetings and is over weight.

You mean 'another' down?

is it a lack of motivation on his part

Consider how many calories he must be eating to maintain his enormous size while participating in a college strength and conditioning program. Yeah, I'd say he lacks the motivation to cut back his eating. He could cut back to 3500 calories and he would probably lose 2-3 pounds a week.

I'm not trashing the young fella. I really hope he gets it together.

I think he wants to play badly but he got in the SELA game and was bad out of shape. He could not have run down my Grandma and she has been dead for 35 yrs...

He's not wrong... He also spent all of last Saturday pouting on the sidelines.

That's not a good way to get on the field

He needs to really step up his efforts with conditioning and in the weight room if he wants to play. If Arden Key could do it last year coming off of an injury there is hope for him. And he's still a RS freshman. Hope the young man puts in the work and reaches his potential here.

He's already played multiple downs this season against SELU.

He won’t

I’m sorry but stories like Shelvins just don’t work out. He’s 20 years old and has had world class nutrition and training for 2 years now and apparently has made zero progress

Odds are better he’s off the team after this season than he contributes.

Either that or process him. Can't afford to waste scholarships anymore. He wouldn't get away with that in Tuscaloosa. I know people hate the Bama comparison, but he runs a tight ship, and there's very little waste.
