Correct he's academically ineligible to play this year
oh noz.
still it's much better news than going to Jones CC.
he will be an impact player next year if he buckles down on the school work.

Why are people excited about this? Wasn't he the top rated recruit in our class last year? And sure he's here next year but wouldn't it be nice to see him this year? I have no doubt that if he played for bama he'd be eligible. I wish they would release the details. I also wish O would tell us the truth. He said a while back Shelvin would join the team and then said he's almost with the team. Now he can't even play this year. It's ridiculous. Why does it have to be our best recruit? So tired of this crap.
Sorry I havnt ranted in a while.

I doubt he'll be in shape to play early in the year. I wouldn't mind seeing him redshirt.
He's going to have to redshirt this year because the NCAA won't let him play this season.

Yeah I would like to get the reason why he can't play this year.

frick. This sucks. We need him this year. Glad the kid gets to come, but for LSU it sucks that he isnt eligible.

linemen generally need a redshirt year anyway...glad he is aboard.
That usually holds true for OL, not as much for DL. Almost EVERY highly rated DL we have had that I can remember played as a true-FR.

Eddy Lacy can't write his name and can barely read the Chinese food menu he loves so much but somehow Bama got that moron eligible.

He would be eligible if he had went to Alabama.
No. Bama would not have recruited him, because of they can get guys just as good who are eligible. You might have a point if we were beating Bama half the time, but they have dominated us. And it isn't because the NCAA is cheating for them.
All the also-rans complain about special treatment of all the champions. It's what losers do. Quit being a loser.

I don't get why everyone has their panties in a bunch. Getting him to school was huge. It's not the ideal outcome but he's here and will be needed much more in 2018. Up to him now to stay eligible.
Last year Aranda only had enough snaps to share between 2 NT's. The rest of the packages had one of the ends sliding over. Depth is always needed but we have a beast in Ed Alexander and Greg Gilmore is supposedly improving.

The good thing is he is on campus & on scholarship.
I don't recall ever hearing about a partial qualifier this late in the process. Usually the clearinghouse either accepts a kid or doesn't. Then it's a JUCO for anyone that doesn't get cleared.
