He lost like 50 pounds or so. Is that what was keeping him from 5 stars?

Yes. He’s a more exciting player now that he’s cut weight. He’s still a mountain of a man.

This is not the astrology forum. If you want someone to read the stars and predict the future, you'll need to look elsewhere.

He ate the stars, minus the rice

He got lazy and that’s what kept him from 5* status tbh. He was hurt but that likely had to do with his bad habits. He still dominated some teams when he actually tried.
Think of the NT we just had in 2015 named Greg Gilmore and how he looked in 2016 compared to 2015. Now just imagine a much naturally stronger NT with athleticism to do cartwheels and backflips who can move quick as a cat in a short space with 340lbs on him. 335 to 338 is Tyler Shelvin’s perfect playing weight. Gilmore was around 315 to 325 but Shelvin his much more naturally gifted.
If he puts in the work with his technique and hands. Ripping, pulling, swatting, setting the OLman up with little sudden moves then cutting through the LOS while also keeping his gap filled, this guy is going to be an all SEC DLman period, end of story. I think Ika is the best thing that has happened to him. He saw the talent and attitude that guy came with and it gave him something to compete with and once you cross that threshold of competition, it can drive you on and on to get better and better. If he has that type of attitude about it and keeps going, he’s going to be special. No one is moving that guy an inch, that I can assure you.
You saw a little bit of what he can do in the A&M game and that was while totally out of shape. Now imagine him the same size but in shape angry and pissed off ready to smash something? Those two guys will make our defense something nasty if they can find that competitor in them. Hopefully the guys we’ve RS’d in the past will now show their strengths as well. It’s time and we will need the rotations.
LB position will be fine if not better overall. It should be a fun year in all 3 phases this year. Stingley retuning kicks and punts then shutting down one side of the field will help. Chassion back, Stevens on the field more, Delpit in the box more, Divinity playing in the middle and will be a thumper there. I actually think he will be a better rusher then White was. Not a better overall LB but solid LB with better rushing skills. There’s not one guy in particular that the OC can take out with scheme and we not have someone else to show up that day. It’s going to be tough dealing with this defense.
Add the fact that this new offenses moving pieces will get them ready for the fast moving eye candy they will see during the season will help them as well. It will help both sides. I think Brady is going to put a premium on scoring 6 points instead of 3 when in the RZ and will also add the timing of going deep to our scheme. Timing is everything with a scheme. It won’t be random or dictated by down and distance. It’s will be precise and dictated by what is being shown on the field by our offense and their defense. It’ll be more about if they expect this now or not. I can’t wait to see this new team. I really believe we will look like a new team this year. I think we will finally beat the Texas Southern teams 59-7 and Ole Miss 49-13. I think our defense and offense will feed off each other. I hope Texas walks into that game with a huge head because they will get smoked if that’s the case. I still see a 41-21 type of game but you never know.

I agree with the OP. They ought to go back and adjust the stars according to how well they worked out.

I wanna see how well he can move. He ate up some double teams last year but pretty much couldn't move, maybe 3 steps, but he was like a turtle running through peanut butter if he had to move
