LSU should've let PULMONARY PAWL take the fricking Texas job when it was offered instead of keeping his lazy arse. We'd be better off as a team today. So yes the correct answer is TRUE!

Bet you JJ doesn't
Going to a super regional isn’t impressive and the rantards who yelled about it like it was an accomplishment for Paul are going to see how easy it is this year. Jay will 100% bring this team to a super regional, feel free to bookmark this

Yeah, I’ve already done it. They both had a better fielding percentage last year.
Which was BAD. Thompson was a .93% fielder which by all standards is POOR. And Doughty was .94. While they were “better” doesn’t mean they were good. Plus Doughty played 3rd not second where he touched the ball a bell of a lot less.

You’re one of those that thinks that pitching is the problem? Before this weekend we had the 3rd best pitching staff in the SEC. Even after this weekend we still have the 4th best staff.
Not really except starting pitching. That comment was about RECRUITING by Pawl. That comment was about the lack of lefties he had when he was here the last few seasons and how teams would load up on lefty hitters. It isn’t about HOW GREAT OF A JOB KELLY AND JOHNSON HAS DONE WITH THIS STAFF. How Johnson has used them.

Yeah, they weren’t great. And with another year of experience they have somehow gotten worse. Maybe Doughty should be moved back to third instead of Berry who was a DH all of last year for some reason. Or maybe that’s not the solution, I have no idea.
And some of those pitchers are young and have a good chance to develop into starters. I never once said that they had done a bad job with the pitching staff. There is obviously talent on staff in order to be the 3rd/4th best staff in the SEC. Props to them for figuring out how to use them.

Not sure how we couldve reasonably gotten rid of him any sooner

I agree, dumping on a Hall of fame coach like Manieri is shameful. The 15 yrs he was at LSU they were probably in the top 90% of teams in the country. Lucky to have him.

False. CPM would have been a lot better had we not given him a ling term guaranteed contract after 2009, then 2017. When will we learn?

How does one improve fielding you think? Practice? I can assure you those guys are taking more balls than they did the previous year and practiced that much harder. It is PSYCHOLOGICAL. Take a guy like Thompson who is athletic and has a cannon, you don’t think he isn’t trying hard? It is the opposite. They have gotten worse because some options are no longer on the team. Hughes, like him or not, could have been playing by now and you better believe Johnson would have him in for Thompson regardless of hitting had He knew Thompson would be where he is mentally. He has 4 other players or more that were high school SSs and NONE can play at this level like people expect.

2020 was cut short and no one was going to fire him with that season.
Covid extended him a year...I remember the pulse that season, and what happened in 2021 would have absolutely happened that year

I wouldn't say way too long, but there has been a noticeable decline since the runner up finish in 2017. It's like that took the wind out of his sails. Baseball has been mailing in recruiting for several years, getting commitments for highly ranked younger players without truly evaluating them. Because of this we have gotten a roster full of players with little to no upside.

I mean he recruited the vast majority of the players.
He left Johnson with 2 left handed pitchers (one being hasty) and 0 guys who can play C, 2B and SS and hit above .200
The whole “Paul would have sacrificed hitting for defense” may be true, but that’s also why we fell behind.
Arkansas, Tennesse, Vandy the better teams year in year our aren’t sacrificing hitting for defense

He should’ve been forced out 3 years ago
