Interim doesn’t count.

Impossible to say not knowing the bowl opponent. But I'd say there's a 95% chance or greater we go 3-0 before then.

Even O admits this. He said just last week that this was his first year to lead the Tigers against Alabama.

Coach speak.

Of course it counts. It is his record as a college head coach. Someone was coaching the team at the end of last year after Miles was fired

Hal Hunter is still undefeated as a head coach

What are his stats as a real head coach and not counting while he was an interim?

We only have 4 games left including the bowl game, so he can't possibly get above 0.500, but at 0.500? If LSU ends up 4th in the SEC pecking order, then we probably get put up against a very good team and could easily lose.

Woo-hoo! The Head Coach of a once preeminent program may, may, be .500 overall for his career if he wins his next four games!

We comin!

Also, Head coach O is only 16 - 27. His interim gigs mean absolutely nothing.

And people say that we've turned a corner and we are trending upward.

The only O coaching record I care about stands at 7-3 now, as HC of LSU. If, in January, his LSU record stands at 11-3, I can live with that for now.

We are riding the rest of the way. We will win the last 3 games and should beat a good team in the bowl game. 10-3 will be a great first season for CEO. We will get a great recruiting class and compete for championships next year.

Yeah, because the team literally coached itself while he was interim. #stupidlogic

Why are O sycophants so eager to claim his interim stints, though? I suspect it's because of the cursory look at the numbers. However, some of those interim games reveal some further problem areas for O if you look closely.

No, it doesn't. There's no official record that counts wins while a coach is interim. You don't get to count them just to make him look better.

No. It really does not count. As interim, he doesn't have his coordinators nor is he using his system of game planning. The offense didn't change much last year after he took over because you can't change a scheme mid season.

I'm not necessarily defending O with this post but to say that an interim head coach is the same as a head coach is just stupid.
