Trey Quinn Article: the Next Eric Decker?
Jordy Nelson is a better comp with the height/size/speed combo if we're comparing Quinn to white WRs

The only person that brought up Decker in the article was Quinn himself, FWIW.

He isnt just faster than most think, he is unbelievably fast.
I completely agree. Decker ran an official 4.5 40 at the Combine, which is what I would expect Quinn to be at once he fills out and matures fully. They both also go up and high point the ball extremely well and make crazy catches look easy. Both were also great 2 sport athletes because they were so athletically gifted. The Quinn to Decker comparison really is fitting when you go past the 2 inch height difference.
ETA: Plus Decker has a ridiculously smoking hot wife, on top of being an NFL star, being rich, and athletically gifted. Why wouldnt anybody want to be like him?

10.7 100m dash isn't that fast chief. It's fast for a high schooler but it probably won't win or place in the state championship heat.
Trey Quinn does not have world class speed. Trindon Holliday had world class speed and he ran a 10 flat. Leonard fournette apparently runs a 10.4 100m dash.
Yes, Trey is fast, but he's not a desean jackson type player. he's going to be good because of his great hands, route running and ability to run after the catch.

You can always tell a lazy writer when they can't help but compare a white player to another white player, no matter how dissimilar they actually are.
Now I know you didn't read the link.
I just thought it was ironic because of the running meme here how we usually compare white players to other white players and we laugh about it and others get upset.
Now, Quinn himself does it. Just thought it was funny.

didnt know guice was that fast, nice.

Trey is color blind, and that will be evident to the masses once he gets to campus. He loves his teammates and Louisiana people, from every walk of life. He is naive to the world and why everybody would want to make a big deal out of race. No, he is not an Olympic track hopeful, but he has the speed to go the distance on the football field. He is a football player who just happens to run track. In my opinion, he plays the game differently than any receiver I have seen as far as his versatility. Great hands, great route runner, great speed, his yards after catch are as good as anybody's (watch four years of 5A film) despite some of the baloney I have seen about "lacking explosion", he is a physical blocker, can run the ball when asked to, return punts and kicks, and anything the team needs him to do to secure victory. Granted he does not run east and west for 50 yards to gain 10 yards, he is a one cut/move and get up the field runner. It is not always flashy, but very effective.
It would be nice to end all of the comparisions and just say that he is unique in his own way, but I realize that is an unrealistic request.

And that constitutes World Class Speed? A second place finish in 5A in Louisiana High School Track?
C'mon...I can't wait to see the kid play and he's clearly very fast (and faster than most will give him credit for) but when you trot out obvious hyperbole like "World Class Speed" you do him a disservice.

ETA: 6,000,000,000 *.0001= 600,000. I dont think there are 600,000 that can run a 10.7
ETA2: But being in the top 0.01% of something is prolly considered crap on the rant

Fast but not world class on any level. LF with a 10.4 is not world class. They are both very fast. How about this world class for high school??

ETA: I was also wrong about Quinns time, " turned a blistering 10.4-second mark in the 100 meters"

Well hell...I guess that's ONE way to do it. Of course, that way would include nearly all VERY fast skill players in the NFL and college football, which would sort of dilute the pool, but I guess it's your party.
Now...I'd do it by looking at the times posted by those guys who intended to run internationally. As in, The World, and see if his time ranks anywhere near those. If it does, then I'd include it as "World Class." If not, I would not.
Again...you do the kid a disservice when you insist on claiming he is something he is not. It's no knock on Quinn that he DOES NOT have WCS. Almost no one does...and that included elite athletes. But insisting he does forced people to actually think ab out the words you use and analyze them. When they do, they find he does not, which then puts them in a position to have to point that out which makes it seem as if they are taking shots at the player, rather than the guy who felt the need to overstate the player's abilities.
Quinn is fast. Very fast. He does not remotely have world class speed as defined in any normal sense.
I REALLY fricking hate the offseason...
