What does our RB depth chart look like?
The Rant may have to conduct a Free Trey Holly rally outside the courthouse.

Missing spring ball is the least of his concerns.

Good point. I was thinking false arrest, if he just got railroaded without probable cause.

if he ends up acquitted, he may have a suit to file, but it wont be a civil rights issue.

I am not familiar enough with the specifics of the case to know if there is potential for a suit against law enforcement for not handling this properly.

This whole case is weird. The DA Jon Bolton is LSU recruiting coordinator Jon Randall Beltons dad. I think the judge is supposed to be M. Clement whose stepson Chase played on the 2011 team. Both have been in these positions predating these charges, but it’s just crazy the connections to LSU football that exist especially this far from BR.

They should recuse themselves.

Edited for fat thumb syndrome a/k/a typo.

Can't wait to see the size of the civil rights lawsuit if the charges are ultimately dropped or he's found not guilty. How much NIL has he lost, not to mention possibly an NFL career

I'd be surprised if they dropped the charges.

18 months from incident to trial in a murder trial is not long AT ALL.

It’s routine for trial to be more than year, sometimes several years after the event.

I don't know why you got downvoted. That is super quick.

I can’t imagine them dropping g the charges either. I don’t think Belton would not be bringing a case unless he felt there was strong evidence.

Because the people on the rant, are not known for being particularly smart...

Also, because many want to assume he is innocent, because he is a football player, but if he were any other freshman on campus they would assume guilt...

**He may be totally innocent, IDK... but 18 months from incident to court date, is not long AT ALL.**

If everybody that had some kind of connection to LSU football recused themselves, this trial probably wouldn't be possible.

Does all this missed time count against his eligibility?

If he's found not guilty and cleared to play, I'd assume he will be classified as Redshirt Sophmore for the upcoming season.

Kid hasn't played any significant football in 2 seasons. Im not sure if he's been working out with the S&C staff/team or not... but I dont think he will be much of a factor.

He will be the 5th guy on the RB depth chart...possibly 6th if Johnson moves back to RB if Hurley returns.

They confused civil trial (noncriminal) with civil rights (discrimination)

You are correct sir! His biggest concern right now is not becoming the starting running back for the Angola Mean Machine.

You watch too many movies. At Angola, he better learn to make wood chairs and learn how to ride horses in a rodeo.
