18-13 at Stanford does not = 18-13 at Samford.

So 2 entries into the NCAA tournament is considered a mediocre season???
LSU does not equal Duke in basketball.
And if you read the history his first two seasons his squads were decimated by injuries.

there was no way we were going to get a top notch coach.
We can hold out hope that he's bringing Avery Johnson in as an assistant.
Plus, I'd heard Stanley has hired John Wooden as Mens Head Basketball Coach Emeritus. We're going to play him $200k to sleep in the bleachers, but it's well worth it.

I got no problem with Johnson's hire, but he's no savior. He'll enjoy some success, and it will rock hard, but it won't be significantly better than the collective success of the non-sanctioned Brady years.

right, because most people in this thread are agreeing with you.

Also from what ive read on the stanford board 80% of their fans are devestated by his departure.

no brady was bashed because it took 4 years to make the NCAA Tourney

The reason people didnt like Brady is because he was inconsistent. TJ is very consistent based on his record and everyone at Stanford seeems to respect him.
The guy is definitely one of the top candidates LSU could have acquired.

it isn't hard to be better than the brady years
make the tourney 3 out of 4 years and don't get embarassed in the tourney when you do go

7 consecutive winning seasons.
6 straight postseason appearances.
It's night and day versus Brady.
Brady used injuries to excuse losing seasons/not making the postseason. This coach has had injuries and still made the postseason with winning records in a better conference.

Again, TJ is a decent hire. DECENT hire. But it's not night and day. He'll have a good career at LSU. And the same assholes will probably bash the shite out of him.

As a stanford fan, I can only say good riddance to that shitty coach. LSU fans, enjoy timeouts called too late to stop runs, timeouts right before media timeouts, an incomprehensible rotation (you know the worst player on your team...get more familiar), and, of course, a stagnant ugly offense.
Tiger20 is going to love this guy.
