Phil Martelli-St. Joe's

Seriously? Phil Martelli? Martelli had one good year which happened because he was blessed with 2 first round draft picks and a down year in the A-10. He got a one seed and did not make it to the Final Four. In the past five years, he made the same number of tournaments as John Brady and he would've made you say "Wow"? Please explain your logic. I'm dying to know.

yeah, he's definitely a run the floor type of coach.

Well, his running ON the floor almost cost him the Marquette game. Hope he learned from that near fiasco. Nonetheless,if true, sounds like a tremendous hire.

If we just wanted a solid coach and a recruiter, we could have settled for Piere

Are you really trying to equate Pierre to Johnson as a coach?

First of all, it's been stated many times, he's actually a young 71 and won 3 NCAA tourney games.

THIS IS A DISGRACE.
Coach K was ready to come here.
If not him, Calipari, Petino, Roy Williams, and every other Legendary coach in the nation were waiting, hoping, PRAYING that LSU would offer them this job. Truth be told, they were willing to coach for free just to coach at LSU.

(Sarcasm Off Now)

Jeez. This i9 is a good hire. Let's give the guy a chance to come in and see what he can do. He did good things at Nevada and Stanford. Hopefully, he'll do great things here at LSU.

So we hired a guy who had three mediocre seasons followed by one good season.

Where have I seen this type of coach before???

Wait, did anyone ask Collis if he aproves?

Interesting, Emily Turner broke the story first, her first defining moment in her journalism career, congrats if it proves to be true.

Last coach was from Stamford, this one from Stanford. Pretty funny.. Looks like a quality hire.

this guy seems consistent unlike brady who needs 4 to 5 years of rebuilding until he can make another tournament run

Good hire. I think it's the best we could get considering........ there was no way we were going to get a top notch coach.
