Yeah, he should be the kicking coach, the QB coach, the RB coach, the DB coach, the WR coach. He should do everything and teach the kickers to not miss field goals. He should get out there and make 50 yard field goals himself to show them what they should be doing.

I guess you're right, the head coach shouldn't be required to know how good his players are before the season and then be expected to make quality decisions based on that evaluation. What a dumb fricking thing to say.

He kept every player that was committed before he took over as interim coach. Including a lot of the players you watch and cheer for every Saturday. He didn't know if he was going to be the head coach. He wouldn't allow official visits because he wanted the new coach to make the decisions on who he wanted.
Culp was a highly regarded kicker - 12th in the country. But again, LSU had Colby kicking that year and Connor never displayed his in-game acumen.
Again you have turned your eating crow thread into a total shite show. You only like him this year and fault him for the kicking woes from last season.

The writing was on the wall - the aroma was in the air - but too many showed their lack of understanding the game and basted O and CSE.
We gotta good thing going and it wil get better as players season together.

How can you actually be this dumb? Last season the coach made a mistake with the FG kicking situation. His kickers weren't very good. He should have known this because it's a coach's job to know the strengths and weakness of his team. Therefore, hiring a special teams coach would have helped either find a transfer like this season or the ST coach could help the kicker. Of course that is on the head coach and it would be at any school for any head coach. Just because you won't ever fault Orgeron for any thing at any time doesn't mean that others "hate" him because they will.
This season he has done an outstanding job with the FG kicking situation with what looks like a quality ST coach and 2 quality kickers.

excellent points
it is one thing to have doubts about the coach, or to not like the hire and think their were better options at the time the decision was made, but these guys just flat out hated Orgeron and weren't even willing to give him a chance. Kind of lame now for them to want to be fans. Who needs fans like that? They are more damage to the program than any good. They helped prolificate the negative atmosphere that surrounded this program that just makes success that much more difficult. I'm going with the team on this one: "frick em!"

I don't deny it for one second. I'm still skeptical about the long term, but up to this point, the man deserves praise. He's done a great job this season. I'm not sure why some of y'all want everything to be one extreme or the other.
If I see mistakes, I don't mind criticizing and if I see reasons to praise, I praise. I think this is a pretty reasonable stance to take. I'm an LSU fan and done feel like that requires me to have to be a fan of the coach. I wasn't a big Miles fan either, but wanted LSU to win as bad then as I do now.
